Korth .357 Magnum if you're working off the books so you don't leave brass behind.

The P7 has the best trigger in that group...it's not even close.

Also, the P7 is fixed barrel so could take a suppressor that did not need a nielsen device.

What was it called?

Browning Double Action. It was a P220 with European Heel release. They then used the name for a Beretta 84. Beretta made their Cheetah with an enclosed slide for Browning. The name was then attached to their Double Action Hi-Power design.

My DDR Mak is a rival of a fine pre-war Walther PP series pistol.

It had 69 years of real world testing at that point.

You got three choices for the most part.

Walther P5

Sig Sauer P6

HK P7

Or do you say fuck it and go rogue and carry something else since you're cool as fuck and carry a Hi-Power, CZ-75, Beretta 92, S&W 39, etc...?

If it was mandatory that I choose one of the 3, I would roll with the P5 Walther.

That said, if choosing my own, choose the CZ-75.

Browning imported Sigs with European butt magazine releases.  The .45 at least was called the Browning BDA 45.  I don't recall ever running into a 9mm version, but they probably imported them.

Browning sort of opened the market for Sig to do their own thing in the US.

They did import about a few thousand 9mms, and a small number in 38 Super, I want to say less 900. The vast majority were .45ACP.

P6 for a duty gun, PPK in .32 for putting one behind the ear of any DDR/USSR agents found.  No reason to wake the neighbors when disposing of vermin.

If I'm quietly disposing of vermin it would be with a P7M8-SD. If I'm gonna be a badass whack-a-mole, I'm gonna be one with panache. I might even go so far as to rock one with a nickel finish and I hate shiny guns. Badass porn star mustache to top it off. Like this but with the stash...

All three are dead sexy, classic Teutonic beauties.

I couldn't pick just one. So I went with the cock/blondes.

In this order:

1.) Colt 1911 with some light modifications.
2.) S&W Model 59 (39-2 is also okay)
3.) Browning Hi-Power

However, I'd roll an MP5 with the skinny handguards like mentioned prior.

Cool.  I remember shooting the .45 version as a buddy had one.  I could change the mags out pretty quickly with it but I still preferred the release in the 1911 position.

On the other hand that was before my first P7M8, and I love the paddle release along the trigger guard- I would drop the mag with my trigger finger.  That feature led me to enjoy the PPQ, but then they changed that with the M2 version.

In other words I am fickle.  I like the paddle release most, the 1911 position next, and the butt magazine release a distant third.  I had an HK P9S Target that had the butt release and the thing was accurate, but funky off the charts in all other aspects.

I was in Germany in 1980.  Everyone was worried about the security of the arms rooms so terrorist and the Bader Meinfof gang couldn't get any weapons.  I pointed out one time that all they had to do was wait for us to go on an FTX.  Since we were not allowed to carry any small arms ammo, the Red Brigade could have used a .22 and held up the entire 3rd Infantry Division and stolen any weapon they wanted.

This did happen at a few US Army Kasernes close to K-Town after 1984.  It wasn't the terrorists though.  From what I remember it was a collector that stole a couple of M16A1s from some poor US Army Grunt on gate guard without ammo.

I voted other because the only sidearm I carried there in the 1980s was the S&W Model 15 in .38 SPL.
