Good Job all around on this one.
Maybe my tinfoil is on too tight but I don't think it was a coincidence that the Iranian hostages were released on the same day this movie came out. The whole - public diversion and media distraction - thing may have been in full swing. |

Theater was maybe 10% full when I went. Mostly older, white, obviously right leaning people and the same younger type crowd I always see blasting away at the local range. This was a 12:50pm showing however.

Saw it last night. The majority of people in line were buying tickets for Ride Along 2. So I wasn't expecting many people in the 13 Hours screening. Too my surprise, it was nearly full, though.
I thought it was made clear who left them hanging. There was the line about "our government" watching the same ISR drone feed as the CIA chief and probably having a better understanding of the situation than those at the annex. There was quite a bit of sniffling when the credits started. On the way out I heard an older woman walking behind me say "I don't know how anyone could vote for her if they know about this" and "She's got blood on her hands... and so does he." |

Just saw it. Awesome film. Michael Bay finally made an adult movie.
It did a really good job of relaying the confusion that they must have experienced. Loved Tonto. In the end credits, I was glad to see that Oz got his arm back. |

The movie was okay.. The author of the book simply told the story told him by the 5 surviving contractors. The contractors seemed to me to be almost scientific in describing and relating only what they had personally experienced, nothing more. There is no politics in the book, "just the facts, ma'am." The guys came out and told the truth as they experienced it, nothing more. It's up to us to draw the obvious conclusions. They can't be accused of politicizing the story, and neither can Michael Bay; but what they have given is is all we need. Without them we wouldn't have a clue about the truth about Benghazi. |

Blackwater never subcontracted out their services. However Blue Mountain was famous for it and I think Blue Mountain had subbed out their services to Libyans who didn't step up when it got hot. That is my recollection. Happy to hear confirmation or corrections. |

Just saw it tonight with my son, I was a good movie. I was surprised that it only cost $50 million to make. It sure makes our military and government look shitty the way they refused to respond to requests for help.
General Ham and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Dempsey should have resigned to protest the lack of authorization for support yet they saluted and kept their jobs. If I was a contractor, I would have had my wife call CNN/FOX/Wash Post and tell them that my husband was in a firefight and Obama/Hillary won't send help. |

Packed showing today @ 1:40PM, really, really liked the movie. The departures from the book didn't really make or break anything which is always good

I just got back from seeing it. Great movie movie but I really wish that it was a total work of fiction! I cant believe that really happened!
My combat experience is limited to a few nasty nerf wars and water gun fights but wasn't that security force terribly under manned and under equipped? The whole country was in chaos with all manner of American hating psycho fishing thru Qaddafi's war toy box and they have what ten guys? Our government had to know this and that the locals were flaky. Why not have at least one hundred or more men maybe Marines? Take over on of the air ports and base air support there. What about armor Bradleys ect. Just cant believe any of those people were put in that situation. Some one needs to go to jail! |

My wife and I went to see it yesterday afternoon (2:30pm matinee). The theater was about half full.
I thought I'd leave the theater raging mad, but when the movie ended I was sort of all over the place. Humbled at the courage and valor those guys exhibited, angry and disgusted at the douchebags that sat and watched it all happen and did nothing. It's one of those "everyone needs to see it" kind of movies. |

CBS News has been told that, hours after the attack began, an unmanned Predator drone was sent over the U.S. mission in Benghazi, and that the drone and other reconnaissance aircraft apparently observed the final hours of the protracted battle. AC-130U gunships were reportedly stationed at NAS Sigonella (on Sicily) The distance from Sigonella to Benghazi is about 420 miles, about two hours' flying time for an AC-130. Disgraceful. |

Just reading the box office numbers, it looks like this movie will likely make back its production budget of $50mm but maybe not much more. It looks to track alongside his last sub $20mm premiere, 2013's Pain & Gain.

It doesn't open here until Friday. I'll finish the book tonight or tomorrow. Most movies like it are packed when they come out here, so it will be interesting to see. I'll go to a Sunday matinee when my dad gets back from GA.
