Quoted: Do not run towards the police when they are pointing guns at you. This isn’t the 60s. View Quote And if you run away from the police you are a desperate criminal attempting to escape and will be shot in the back. Alternatives? The police were already returning fire into the truck so it wasn’t safe to stay there. |

What was the relation between girl and kidnapper? Father/daughter?

Quoted: I just duped this police claim maybe she was shooting at them. Sounds like she was unarmed and the police shot her as she ran towards them because she had on a plate carrier and helmet View Quote damn...you gotta watch out for those helmets and plate carriers man. Looking at how the vehicles ended up, the passenger would have been placed right in the line of fire between the truck and the nearest LE vehicle.

Dang. "tactical Gear" is now a justifiable reason to kill someone?
|

Quoted: Police don't get much training which can really result in panic and adrenaline running a situation. View Quote And most, if not all of the training has absolutely nothing to do with the actual job. We literally had a PowerPoint about work safety that told us how to hide and barricade in the event of an active shooter. One part instructed us, in the event of an attempted carjacking, to throw our keys at the carjacker and run. They actually counted it as two hours towards our annual training hour requirements despite the fact it was a PowerPoint for office workers. It's a fucking joke but we can barely afford money to buy enough ammo to meet our minimum firearms qualification requirements, let alone any real training. |

The suspect ambushed his wife at an intersection. Bullet impacts all over the place.

We missed that whole shit show by 10 minutes yesterday, driving through Victorville CHP passed us at about 110 miles an hour approaching Barstow seven sheriffs vehicles passed us in the other direction going about 120. They must’ve blocked 15 right after we drove through, terrible story.

Sherrif's office is saying preliminary information indicates the passenger may have been involved in exchanging gunfire with LE during some points of the various shootouts.

Overserved and protected.
Mere donning of "tactical gear" does not give rise to deadly force. Brandishing and pointing a deadly weapon would. |

It seems to be SOP these days for hostage/kidnapping cases for the cops to kill anyone and everyone they can if the hostage taker or kidnapper exchanges fire with the police. I wonder if these cops took cover behind minivans with families in it like the Florida cops did. |

Hey, I know... let's pretend that cops are good!
And let's give them SWAT equipment, and MRAPs, and AR15s so they can serve and protect us. And treat them special, so they can carry guns off-duty almost anywhere. And when they fuck up, let's just give them free vacation and let them go with no punishment. And also, no personal liability like they would have in literally any other job in our society. Fucking cops! |

A 15-year-old girl and her fugitive father who abducted her were killed in a highway shootout with police in California on Tuesday, officials said. Savannah Graziano was running toward San Bernardino County sheriffs in tactical gear on Interstate 15 in Hesperia as the officers shot at her father, Anthony John Graziano, who was wanted for the murder of Savannah’s mother. Police did not say if the shots that killed the girl were fired by the officers or her father in the morning shootout. San Bernardino County Sheriff Shannon Dicus said Savannah might be responsible for some of the fired shots. “There may be some indications that the passenger of the vehicle which we believe is Savannah may have been involved in some of the fire exchange,” Dicus said at a press conference, calling the case “highly complex.” “There may be some information that the passenger was involved in firing back at the deputies and we’re still trying to confirm that at this point.” Savannah was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her father was killed at the scene, police said on Twitter. Police said it will take “at least 24 hours” for new information to emerge due to the wide area where bullets were fired. Graziano had been on the run since Monday morning after he allegedly killed his wife, Tracy Martinez, with multiple gunshots in Fontana, California. https://nypost.com/2022/09/27/teen-girl-fugitive-father-killed-in-shootout-with-cali-police/ View Quote |

Speed - Shoot the Hostage |
|
It was was a 50 mile rolling gun fight where the someone from the truck was shooting at the cops on the freeway as they were chasing him. I heard that she opened the door and ran towards the cops at the same time that her father was shooting at the cops. Until I hear other wise, I don't think I'm going to blame the cops for this one.

Happened in my town. Shoot the hostage. Ill never respect the police here after that.

With modern forensic science it will most likely be determined who shot her
It goes without saying that it is a tragedy. If it is determined that an officer shot her, he or she should be held accountable, just as if one of us were in the same situation. If you are employing deadly force, ID your target and be sure of your backstop/down range area. Nothing less is accepticle. Prayers for all concerned. |

Quoted: Sherrif's office is saying preliminary information indicates the passenger may have been involved in exchanging gunfire with LE during some points of the various shootouts. View Quote This is the interesting part and NO surprise the AP and GD ignored this from the reports. Not saying it is true, but driving 110 and firing rounds from a rifle at pursuing cops isn't easy. She was either forced to help drive or fire the rifle. This does not mean shooting her was justified, but it will be interesting to see what the investigation shows. As for gun shot residue, she will be covered in it from the rifle firing in the car. DNA on the rifle may be the only thing, but their proximity and contact may negate that test too. |
