Battleship Cove in Fall River, MA, actually had a Tarantul Class ship (The Hiddensee) until October of last year.
It was acquired by the US some time after East Germany fell and used for testing for several years before the museum acquired it. They had to sell it to a scrapper due to lack of funds to fix the hull just a couple months ago. Attached File |

Firstly, the phrase "letting the cat out of the bag" implies a secret has been let out. Unless you're suggesting drones were a secret, the colloquialism you're looking for is "you're not putting the genie back in the bottle", the past version of "the genie is out of the bottle", which is more related to a major development or change that quickly become widespread and will never be undone. Secondly, you're using it in past reverse which people simply do not say with that phrase. A similar idiom in meaning is to "spill the beans", and again nobody really says "the beans aren't going back in the pot." "The cat is not going back into the bag" sounds like something Balki would say for laughs. To people who grew up in the United States speaking English these are just natural idioms. Easy to get tripped up on if you've studied English and are trying to impersonate a native speaker. |

The US military absolutely did, and put a brick on the gas for anti drone weapons, now even more so with Ukraine. Someone will learn these deadly lessons, and it could be our soldiers, or someone else's. I dont want to be poltical, but there's a reason many on here like the chip plants being moved from Taiwan to the US. These cheap drones need cheap chips, and the US doesn't have direct access currently. The disparity in professionalism and capabilities of the USN versus the Russian Navy is a insane. They're not remotely in the same ballpark, city, state, country or continent. I understand drones are a concern..... hey the US is kinda taking that threat seriously ya know.... Install additional .50bmgs on US ships, bring back the Oerlikon 20 mm cannon an 40mm bofors. An put thermals on them..doesn't need to be high tech for drone speed boats.an if US no longer has depth charges for underwater attacks buy Mk11 Mod 3 from the brits.
