Battleship Cove in Fall River, MA, actually had a Tarantul Class ship (The Hiddensee) until October of last year.

It was acquired by the US some time after East Germany fell and used for testing for several years before the museum acquired it.

They had to sell it to a scrapper due to lack of funds to fix the hull just a couple months ago.

Not really ships, but lots of somali pirate sized boats getting sunk on the Dnieper. Ukraine may not have a navy, but the guy throwing rocks at cars doesn't necessarily own a car either.

They hated this post because it said the truth.

I would expand here with three thoughts:

1. A lot of terrorist groups had their roots, or at least received their weapons and destructive potential, in American proxy campaigns against Russia (how many wikipedia clicks to get from Mujahideen to 9/11?)

2. Despite the amount of propaganda around this point, the "Neo Nazi" imagery that constantly has to be scrubbed from ukraine pictures actually exists. There are groups like that getting experience with these drones right now.

3. The thought of getting revenge against Europe for not helping enough, should they be defeated by Russia, has been voiced by Zelensky himself. He said something about the refugees becoming "unpredictable" if europe didn't pony up more aid.

Not a joke at all. The cat is not going back into the bag when this proxy war is over. He was focused on the impact to US forces, and I was theorizing that this could sadly redefine future terrorist methods. And whether it is goat farmers or the SS Galatia, weapons and tactics to fight russia frequently get used to settle beefs and blood feuds

Then that is pretty sad.  Your words sure do jive with pro Russian propaganda but not with anyone who actually put effort into understanding the whole "nazis" thing.  I will give the Russians credit for killing a whole lot of neo nazis's though.  The nuance being 95% of them were Russian.

In the very near future, the families of U.S military personnel can watch high resolution video on the internet, news, YouTube, etc , Live video of their husbands / sons / dads / wives / daughters / mothers , U.S military personnel being blown up , killed, maimed etc on 4k video via drones dropping grenades on their vehicle / trench / office building, small cheap drones sinking entire multi billion dollar U.S. navy and U.S flagged ships in the near future.

There won’t be anymore cheap / easy Iraq style battles / victories for the USA in the future, no tank vs tank battles,  just endless bloody fights where cheap drones controlled from a mile / 100 miles / 1000 miles by a operator, or controlled totally by AI blow people up while shitting, eating, typing paperwork, dropped into your head, flown thru your window, sneak in and destroy entire fuel depots, ammo dumps, hospitals, factories, etc, and especially when combined with AI, we won’t fare any better against this  type shit than the Russians have.

What you mean is without Ukraine showing them what to do they wouldn't be able to think of it themselves.

That is bullshit and ignores the last 50 years of terrorism.

But conveniently the view is pro Russian.

Bingo. The normalization of this stuff is probably one of the main historical insights that will be drawn from the war in Ukraine.

Consider this image.

Lake Donuzlav's deepest point is 89 feet.

That corvette was 180 feet long.

In the picture above, the bow is nearly vertical.

The corvette broke apart on the surface, as there isn't enough depth for the bow to angle up like that with the ship whole.

To all the people freaking out about drones, I've got to ask a very serious question...  Are you stupid?

How the fuck is that ANY different than a missile or bomb dropped from a plane way up in the sky or launched from 60 miles away?  What about a hypersonic cruise missile?  What about when we used predator drones more than 20 years ago?  Our use of night vision decades before opposing forces were able to acquire it?

None of this shit is new, and you could argue that it's been going on since human beings started throwing objects at each other.

The difference here is how cheap and easy this stuff is to manufacture. This is essentially a manually guided torpedo. Not that impressive. What is impressive is how cheap and easy it was to make, and how well it works.

The big deal is they can't get new hulls into the Black Sea unless they build them.

Maybe they will. This has to be putting the pressure on them and they won't dare mess with the Turks right now.

You're using it incorrectly in two ways.

Firstly, the phrase "letting the cat out of the bag" implies a secret has been let out.  Unless you're suggesting drones were a secret, the colloquialism you're looking for is "you're not putting the genie back in the bottle", the past version of "the genie is out of the bottle", which is more related to a major development or change that quickly become widespread and will never be undone.

Secondly, you're using it in past reverse which people simply do not say with that phrase.  A similar idiom in meaning is to "spill the beans", and again nobody really says "the beans aren't going back in the pot."  "The cat is not going back into the bag" sounds like something Balki would say for laughs.

To people who grew up in the United States speaking English these are just natural idioms.  Easy to get tripped up on if you've studied English and are trying to impersonate a native speaker.

You should have just let it go. "Letting the cat out of the bag implies a secret has been let out" is what you would say if you were yourself ESL, with an understanding of the phrase that came from reading the first sentence of my wikipedia link.  The concept of cheapass drone warfare being that "cat" that was let out of the bag, was brought up on page 1.

I'm always curious if this is a guy who's just influenced by enemy propoganda, or if he's on payroll.

We started seeing the true nature of new, cheap drone warfare in the azeri-armenian war in 2020. Some made not here, most didn't. The US military absolutely did, and put a brick on the gas for anti drone weapons, now even more so with Ukraine.

Someone will learn these deadly lessons, and it could be our soldiers, or someone else's. By getting himself upset about these videos, he's actively supporting America not doing anything, because the more the public knows, the more support there is for anti drone tech.

I dont want to be poltical, but there's a reason many on here like the chip plants being moved from Taiwan to the US. These cheap drones need cheap chips, and the US doesn't have direct access currently.

The disparity in professionalism and capabilities of the USN versus the Russian Navy is a insane. They're not remotely in the same ballpark,  city, state, country or continent.

I understand drones are a concern..... hey the US is kinda taking that threat seriously ya know....

But the panicking and then crying over Russian ships sinking is a bit much guys.

I only watched the youtube video that was directly embedded in the thread but the amount of response would indicate roughly 97% of the crew was sleeping off their vodka and a couple of guys on watch fired some mags from an ak...

I would not be shocked...

It amazes me the people in this thread that would rather we not see or learn about all this modern warfare shit between two countries with no U.S. lives involved.

I guess they'd rather have us get punched in the face first and figure it out on the fly instead of Russians/Ukrainians dying.

Retard logic.

They also think Ukraine "revealed" drone swarms to the world for the first time to china/iran/etc by doing this lol. This has been studied by the U.S., Chinese, and Iranian militaries for the last 10yrs.

I also wonder what Chinas landing ships for Taiwan are thinking now? This works both ways.

They can't bring new hulls through the Straits of Constantinople.  Things like a Tarantul class could still theoretically be brought in via rivers.  Heck, the Soviets used to build Kilos way inland and then move them to the ocean via river portal on barges.  I'm kind of curious if that's a capability the Russian navy still posseses.

Take that sea drone as an example. You could easily use those controls and rig up a drone which could launch an acoustically homing torpedo. The expendable drone travels on the surface until it gets within maybe 5 miles of the target and then releases the torpedo, which goes on to do torpedo things.

Just wait until those drones are driven by AI, and AI is programmed by the elite Left to eliminate anyone not on the "approved" list as a slave worker.

I think our self protection systems are better, more likely to be functional and turned on.

Once upon a time the right would cheer when a major enemy of America got bitch slapped. Now there is a contingent on the right that actively cheers for America's enemies..

I understand the point but are we not supposed to cheer when an invading military loses a key asset? I feel bad for the innocent Russian conscript kids who died in this attack, but Russia caused their deaths not Ukraine.

I would assume anti-drone tech and weapons are one of the highest priorities in every professional military now.

Only because America's own government went Left of the enemy.

I wonder how long it will be until we get a serial killer using drones to kill his victims.....  How would you even catch the guy?

What if some terrorist flies them into the presidential motorcade or something?  The things can literally kill tanks from what I've seen.

Well, you're still free for the moment to move to any of those countries that are closer to your political ideal and see who's left of whom first hand.
