The Republicans can never unite after the primaries like the dims do.

Believe it or not, Trump’s endorsements are pretty irrelevant one way or the other.

As for Trump himself though, you are correct. Many will never vote for him again, even if he is the nominee. Including me.

McConnell, Romney, Kinshaw, Crenshaw and that twat Kinzinger and all the R’s that voted to impeach, made me a registered Independent.

I’ll never vote for a Liberal, but don’t assume I’ll vote for some RINO.

Please don't ignore my questions.

Over the last 20 years, how many bills have the Republicans put forth to try to regain our rights? What have they accomplished over the last two decades?

Over that same period of time, how many rights have we lost while the Republicans were in control?

Let's also take a look at who the Republicans tried to force on us in the 2008 & 2012 presidential elections. Do you feel that McCain and Romney were the best candidates that the Republican party had to offer, and that they truly represented the will of their constituents?

Remember when the Republican party backed Murkowski even after she lost the primary in 2010?

Remember how fervently the Republican party opposed Trump during the 2016 primary?

With friends like the Republican party, who needs enemies?

The Republican Loyalists (here & I.R.L.) will go to the polls, hold their nose & vote for even the Wackiest Trump Candidates - doing as their duty as "Republicans".

However those Trump Candidates are often not strong as General Election Candidates - to win in a General Election a Candidate must pull over the Middle (that is how Trump narrowly won in 2016 & narrowly lost 2020) The Middle makes the Decision & that Decides General Elections.

This year should be an easy "cake walk" with the Economy in Shambles & the usual dynamics of being a mid term - for the Republicans to sweep both the House & Senate.

But anger over the Abortion issue with women voters blaming the Republicans (50% of the population) & Trump personally injecting himself into many local races - making it "about him & 2020" - have made for a MUCH tighter race than a typical midterm should be.

I sincerely hope Republicans can win the House & Senate this year.

I've voted from Republicans every single election every single position since 1980.

As much as I dislike Trump (the Man & Politician) I'd still hold my nose & vote for him a third time as a Republican if it came to that in 2024 Vs. wasting a vote on a 3rd party or voting...  for ... a ... Democratic .

I have been voting since 1976. At this point, seeing how things have gone, voting really isn't a solution. Everyone in the beltway lives a different reality than we do. Seems it doesn't take long to assimilate either. You play the game, or you go home. Everyone leaves a millionaire, some much much more. They say what you want to hear, and do what they want.

It got us the majority on the Supreme court which gave us Bruen victory. Among others.

Control of the chamber is a big deal.

It also prevents bad bills like an AWB from being able to get a vote.
View Quote

Yep, the ONLY reason that there isn't a nationwide confiscatory AWB ban in effect right now, is because the GOP held control of the House in 2012 when Sandy Hook happened. The media went into a full court press to try to push the GOP to bringing a AWB to the floor, and the leadership ignored them.

Control is vitally important.

Had the Democrats had a trifecta back then like they do now, they absolutely would have gutted the filibuster and pushed through a NY style outright ban.

Agreed.

The only influence I have is my vote.  If I just give it to any Republican for fear of how bad the Democrats will be then I basically lose my influence.  At that point the GOP can be like "yeah, we're going to ban assault weapons, but just their sale and no confiscate so we're not as "bad" as the Democrats who want to ban and confiscate existing one."   Nope, I'm not going to accept half assed support for liberty.
