Not tears of sadness, but tears of happiness.

The ending of Cinema Paradiso, where the director screens the film which Alfredo, the projectionist, left for him after he died. All the love scenes censored by the village priest for years, rescued and cut together. You have to see the whole film to understand the full import of this. Gets me every time.

Cinema Paradiso - Possibly the best ending scene in film history

I don’t know if I have a man card? If I do I’ve never heard it cry, but it could be buried somewhere in the basement.

Maybe I should go check to see if it’s ok.

I must be weird; I don't really cry at movies?

The end of the 2nd episode of Chernobyl, though, has a scene where the 3 divers are volunteering for the suicide mission. "You'll do it because it must be done. You'll do it because you're the only ones who can. You'll do it because if you don't, millions will die. And if you tell me that's not enough - I won't believe you." And after a moment the individuals stand up.

Ananenkov. Baranov. Bezpalov.

That scene raises the hairs on my neck.

Read up on it.  They crashed three Murcielagos to make a 'Frankenstein' car used to create the stunt.

Correction: According to the production designer, the did get three cars from Lamborghini:

Crowley says because this chase happens to Bruce Wayne during the day, he can't use Batman's Tumbler. "So Lamborghini gave us three cars to do a stunt sequence with -- one of which we smashed up."

But only one was destroyed. Still, that was one $400K car...

That was a beautiful film; i had not seen it in 30 years -- then i stumbled onto it early one Sunday morning this past year. Watched the whole thing. I loved the early scenes when everyone would pack into the movie theater.

It was amazing.

The main character, played by Philippe Noiret would later go on to play Pablo Neruda; in another great film. With another great ending:

While home alone a couple weeks ago I watched Call of the Wild and cried most of it. Don’t know why it was such an emotional day but good dogs really work me over.

I tried watching Taking Chance and didn’t get very far in before turning it off. That’ll be for another day I’m home alone.

"Million Dollar Baby"
Starring Clint Eastwood, Hillary Swank and Morgan Freeman.

Boxing trainer past his prime Frankie Dunn (Eastwood) reluctantly trains
a determined Maggie Fitzgerald (Swank).  In time, Maggie's grit gets
her in the ring with a string of wins and in reach of a title bout.

Her Irish crowd pleasing name "Mo Chuisle" given to her by Frankie is
chanted ringside but Maggie has no idea what it means in English.

A tragic mishap in the ring leaves Maggie paralyzed from the neck down
and unable to speak.  She wants Frankie to help end the suffering and embrace death.

At the death scene Frankie finally reveals what "Mo Chuisle" means.
The English translation was "My Darling, My Blood".

I remember watching that with my two daughters. They asked me why the movie made me so sad. It’s funny, the movie was age appropriate for them, but they just didn’t get it (the beginning part).
