Avatar - unbelievably stellar concept and graphics. Poor execution. Dances with Wolves part 2.
Titanic - didn't need the extra bs subplot. I would have thoroughly enjoyed it if they had followed the boat through it's construction, highlighted it tales of invincibility, and built a plot around the characters involved. Make you think, not feel. Every star wars movie since the originals - no explanation needed. Every Aliens move since 1986 - not exactly popular but needs attention. You sorry Hollywood fucks took two creative masterpieces that were decades ahead of it's time and completely abandoned everything that made them exceptional. You focused on cgi and piggybacked onto Scott and Cameron talents, hoping to use tech as a replacement for creative, artful filmmaking. You failed miserably and I hope you lost your ass in the process. |

Hateful Eight was the biggest pile of garbage I've seen in quite some time.
I really didn't care for Pacific Rim, a lot here loved it and I'm super into sci fi so I gave it a watch and thought it was pretty bad. Barely held my attention. |

Gravity, except for that one scene where the camera went up between Sandra bullocks legs, with a perfect ass shot while she was wearing boy shirt panties.

It's still the best movie ever. Better than that spaghetti-o godfather movie. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

I think my praise for unnamed movie has surpassed anyone's "hallelujah" for anything ever. It needs to be launched into space in a time capsule for all other entities to take note of.

The Dunkirk thread made me think of this. There are some movies that you either love or hate, some people call them masterpieces and classics, others, steaming piles of shit. There are also the undeniably horrible movies that no one liked (or even heard of) but the critics raved about and won shit tons of awards. What are your best of the worst? No Country For Old Men: Incredibly slow plot and no end. By the time the snooze fest actually started to get interesting it was over, and it just ended apruptly with no actual conclusion. A movie should have a beginning, middle, and an end, but this one forgot the end, and it didn’t have much of a middle either. I also found it very weird and hard to follow, it was way to artsie fartsie to me. Don’t even get me started on the silenced shotgun. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Anything starring Van Dame, Stallone, or Seagal.
Half of everything starring Schwarzenegger. Most of everything that Matt Damon has been in with the exception of the Departed, Martian, and the first Bourne. Everything that Clooney has been in except O Brother Where Art Thou. |

Apocalypse Now. Worst piece of overrated trash I think I’ve ever seen.

Lord of the Rings movies, all of them. They sucked balls. View Quote I fell asleep and woke up a while later watching the first one. Shrugged and went back to sleep. OP: Avatar. Every plot point was completely transparent. The Colonel was pitiful. He spoke in recruiting bumper stickers. I think they tried to copy Colonel Kilgore from Apocalypse Now and forgot the bit where he was walking down the beach realizing that his life would have no purpose without the war. |

Avatar was highly overrated. Very lazy remaking of westerns with the bad old white man being the root of all evil. View Quote People are idiots, therefore, there are a lot of movies that are not worthwhile (even as idle entertainment) despite being very popular. My list: Fight Club Field of Dreams or anything Costner did about golf, or any other sport. Anything by Spike Lee Just about all the newer superhero movies and Star Trek movies |
