went digging into Page nearly a year ago. When the Russia narrative & his name started being
tossed around, my thoughts on him were very different than the bumbling clown everyone else
portrayed him as. I've been keeping my mouth shut, saving all my deep dive info on Mr. Page,  
and waiting for someone knowledgeable to speak up. I really was about to determine I was the
crazy one, but I feel quite validated now.

There are people in the intelligence community who always end up pulled into the political arena.

Various Congressmen have been relying on leaks and informants within the IC for decades.

Most of the time, these leaks and informants share the same political ideology or are working for the enemy.

Both parties have and use them.  These are often agents or officers who seek to be involved with the political process, work their way up from field to management, and eventually end up as advisors to campaigns even.  Some become senior WH staff, VPs, and even President.

Notable cases are:

* Oliver North (William Cathey).  Working for George H.W. Bush's Latin America mission after Congress tied Reagan Administration hands from supporting the anti-communist Contras in Nicaragua.  Instead of using normal funds via military foreign missions, National Guard unit budgets with Federal backing, they reverted to cocaine sales to finance the Contra mission.  Due to piss-poor operational planning, vetting, and recruitment of personnel for that mission, it of course was compromised when one of the C-123 load masters, Eugene Hasenfus, was captured by the Sandinistas in Nicaragua after he parachuted to safety when Fat Lady was shot down.  Sandanistas found documents linking some of the deceased crew to Olive North, while Hasenfus was running his mouth like a canary to his captors about it being a CIA operation overseen by VP Bush.  

The Reagan WH was now left with this albatross around their neck, but Bush and his CBS crew did a great job of damage control by painting the whole affair as the Iran-Contra Scandal, where the weapons were being sold to Iran to purchase weapons for the Contras, not selling cocaine in mainly the US.  The story the public heard was a textbook case of deception, since the truth was rather unpleasant.

* The Valerie Plame "exposure" affair (even though her husband, Ambassador Joseph Wilson and his Niger yellow cake "investigation", frequently mentioned to everyone he met in DC circles that his wife was employed with Langley).  They both are leaks with passionate partisan bias towards the DNC, which was blatantly on display this past election with their support for Hillary Rodham.  At the time, they were actively undermining the Bush Jr. WH push for enforcing the UN Resolutions against Saddam, so they told their presstitute buddies that Valerie had been exposed as a CIA employee by Bush WH in retaliation for undermining the Yellow Cake story.

* A retired CIA/USAF Colonel I want to mention but won't.  This guy took great pleasure in exposing corrupt politicians who junior members of the IC doing their jobs have had to surveil for decades, then just see them get away Scot-free with treason, while facing severe criminal penalties if they ever even mentioned what they've seen to anyone, including life sentence imprisonment and repercussions for their families.  There were a lot of really good nuggets left by him in the 1990s/early 2000s, but his work has been throughly scrubbed.  You can click on hotlinks, but it's all 404 after that.

He hit way too close to home for the Clintons, Bushes, DOJ, NSA, exposing bank account numbers, sealed indictment info, his own grand jury testimony as an expert witness in sealed espionage cases (redacted under NSAct), Congressmen that were forced to resign with a whisper from him (remember all the Congressmen that resigned in the 1980s who said, "Ah shucks folks, turns out we hired an illegal immigrant nanny/housekeeper/whatever.  Sorry, bye."). He revealed the 1993 sealed indictments for espionage against Hillary and Vince Foster that were recommended by NSA and others to William Sessions' FBI after a very thorough criminal trail of the money, accounts (he gave out the account numbers Foster was servicing in Chiasso, Switzerland), the Pakistani/Saudi connections, BCCI money laundering, use of Native American reservations for legal loopholes around various criminal and ITAR weapons manufacture/export laws.

He exposed a lot of this underlying deep state dirty laundry, and they were trying to track him down for a long time.  He used vehicles for remote upload of the data online, leaving a mountain lion booby trap in one of the vehicles when they DF'd it.  I think he ended up in one of the secret prisons they use for spies last I heard when they finally got him.  Not a peep about any of this ever made it near the mainstream presstitute brothels.

He had sued the DOJ over evidence they were trying to conceal from another case that he was called in as an expert witness, where the NSA's electronic bank monitoring system had been compromised by the contractors, high level politicians (Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton), and their associate law firms (Rose Law Firm), purchased some of the computers that still had not been sanitized with the NSA's program and classified files still on them, which were then seized by the DOJ.  After winning the suit, they were forced to turn the computers back over to him, which he used in depositions agains the DOJ and their corruption of participating in covering up the compromise of these sensitive systems, as well as how they cheated the original designer out of their contractual obligation to him, then sold his proprietary software to a company in Arkansas with close ties to the Governor.

He listed the lot numbers, dates, depositions, judges, DOJ Prosecutor (who was grossly unprepared for the case), tons of details exposing all of this after they whacked Foster.  He also exposed a covert, internal DOJ OSI unit that continues to operate within the US after the deportation of Nazi war criminals mission expired.  His client, the plaintiff in the case who had been cheated by the DOJ, stated that OSI murdered one of the private investigators they had hired.

You can see why they scrubbed everything they could about this if you had the fortune of being able to read these things. Doesn't look good if you have someone within the IC exposing your offshore bank accounts, your bag man's travel habits, explicit details of sealed Federal espionage and corruption cases that no journalist will ever cover, with the documentation to prove it all.

In Carter Page's case, it looks like he was just another sacrificial lamb who ran a front company and was a peripheral advisor to the Trump campaign.  You have to keep in mind that traitors within the government institutions know that there are patriots who will do pretty much anything to expose them, so the collude with their handlers on how to flush and then attack any threats to them.  It helps when you have the full investigative and prosecutorial power of the DOJ, FBI, CIA, NSA, OSI, at your disposal.

You can kill many birds with one stone when things get dicey, like if someone you didn't plan on getting elected gets elected and starts appointing people who want to expose you.  Notice how they leaned on Flynn's son, for example, or Carter Page's oil company work in Russia.  If Russia can flush out an agent working under cover for action like that with their assets in the DOJ, win for Russia.

Also keep in mind that Russia has been meddling in US politics since the 1930s in order to promote their interests.  It's a free and open society-why wouldn't you fully exploit it when the door is open?  They sent Lyudmila Pavlachnenko to shame the US into opening the European Front against Hitler, while making close friends with Eleanore Roosevelt, while their own Russian Ambassador's wife was running a deep penetration operation in the Manhattan Project.  They also had plenty of limp-wristed weenies in State who were fully on board with socialism, concluding that the Great Depression proved how evil and unsustainable the capitalist system is, joys of Marxism, blah blah.

It's to the point now where we have 20 Senators that are open members of the Democratic Socialist movement, 100 Congressmen, with stooge gate keepers at every senior location in government.  Frog meet boil....see those bubble all around us...yeah, water is a tad hot, wouldn't you say?

I have zero evidence, but I've always suspected that Watergate was Nixon returning to his anti-Communism roots after likely being disappointed by Eisenhower's decided indifference on the matter and having to castigate McCarthy harshly.

Watergate had more to do with Nixon's asshole father, and his lousy gas station beginning that he crawled his way out of through the US Navy and by working his ass off.

He had a chip that was about the size of Rhode Island on his shoulder when he began, and seeing the rich kids get handed the cookies really pissed him off.

He never felt he had the blue blood bonafides so he would never measure up to the sneers of the brahmins.

It made him paranoid, and that was his undoing.  The "other side" was certainly up to dirty tricks.  He understood that as a poor kid, but the problem was the person made the policy.  Plumbers to control leaks were an obsession.

That he was leading in the polls so clearly when the Watergate break in occurred illustrates that he felt at any point he could be "cheated" out of what was rightfully his.

His paranoia negated much of the fact he was a very skillful, intelligent and talented politician.

does anyone really think that after the millions of dollars spent, the time spent, the people interviewed Mueller will come out and exonerate Trump the way that Comey did with the Bitch? I believe the consensus is that they have moved on from collusion to obstruction.  They've lately been rehashing the Comey firing.  I got that from reading this thread several pages back.  I guess it doesn't matter that Rosenstein signed a letter recommending that Comey be fired, you know, since Trump said he was going to fire him regardless of the recommendation.
