3D printed this for my brother. 140 grams of ABS filament @ $23/kilo = $3.22 (Printed all pieces with 75%+ infill for strength) Maybe $2 for a bolt, 2 nuts, and 2 pieces of metal @ Home Depot By popular request, here's the model files --> http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1214485 |

Can you show a pic of the assembly from other orientations? I'm assuming the black piece is "L" or "U" shaped so it can overlap the top section, or am I misunderstanding the functionality?

No joking, add me to the list or please share the files. if you have the 17 and 21 and 43 widths it would be great to have all three sizes on hand.
Thanks Wes |

Sorry gents, it took about 8 hours total to print this (due to such a high infill %) and while it's fun to make 1 or 2 of these, I don't have the time to make dozens for sale.

Congratulations, you have violated seventeen patents we hold on this and similar devices. You will hear from the law firm of Doowee, Stickem & Howe Monday morning. <Glock, Inc.>

Quoted: Post stl file? View Quote I used this design: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:268933 I ended up grabbing the Solidworks files and making a couple changes (removed chamfering so it would print better, resized nut cavities based on actual nut OD, removed support for slide and just used Simplify3D's auto-generated supports) I can post my altered STLs if you'd like, but you may need to modify them based on the hardware you pick up |

That's pretty cool, bet you could sell them on Amazon
Edit never mind |

OP.
You have a lot of buyers ready to go including me. What say you? |

hammer and punch. Is there a reason for all the fuss? Tritium vials have a tendency to break when bubba gunsmiths hammer and punch them into slides instead of using the proper tool. Exactly what are they doing to break them? It survives 10s of thousands of round shot through it and is used as a duty gun in by countless people, but tapping them into place breaks them? |

It's never been recommended to install tritium night sights with a hammer and punch. That sort of direct hammering is a bit different than normal gun cycling. |

Very nice. I would have used fine thread fasteners but it wouldn't make much difference.

Just picked up a surplus G32 police trade in and the sights are jacked, I could use this as I don't want to mess around with a punch. Let us know when the order form is up.

Will it do an M&P Shield Front sight?
My all metal sight pusher struggled, and the point of contact was deformed as a result. |

I use a delrin punch.
If it breaks, I just cut a new piece off the old cutting board I use to make punches. |

Op: a good friend of mine printed some things and used them to make molds, then cast ones for sale.
You might consider casting as the time invested per unit is much lower. Here: http://www.metrixcreatespace.com/blog/clone-factory-bootstrapping |
