He sent this in a letter to all members of Congress on March 30, 1989. The main reason I don't prefer Ruger firearms. You younger shooters take note.
Ready? "The best way to address the firepower concern is therefore not to try to outlaw or license many millions of older and perfectly legitimate firearms (which would be a licensing effort of staggering proportions) but to prohibit the possession of high capacity magazines. By a simple, complete and unequivocal ban on large capacity magazines, all the difficulty of defining 'assault rifle' and 'semi-automatic rifles' is eliminated. The large capacity magazine itself, separate or attached to the firearm, becomes the prohibited item. A single amendment to Federal firearms laws could effectively implement these objectives." There is William B Ruger in a nutshell. |

So is Reagan. What did he say about banning "assault weapons"? This is from 1994:

Do you realize that:
1. Bill is dead. 2. Ruger is no longer ran by him. Why hate the company now? |

He's dead.
They make good guns. Should be picking up my new ruger monday. |

Five years AFTER he had left the presidency, and two years after he had started showing symptoms of Alzheimer's. I'm not sure I would trust that quote to accurately reflect what Reagan really believed at the time. |

But let us not forget want a sellout piece of shit he was, amen.

Quoted: I swear some gun owners are truly deranged. View Quote I think some people get so invested in their favorite brand of guns that they can't conceive of anyone liking anything else. Especially something as pedestrian and simple as Rugers. Some take it upon themselves to convince the deluded masses of the error of their ways. "Rugers suck, and Bill Ruger was a gun grabber! Can't you see that? WAKE UP, SHEEPLE!!" |

And the company is now using his name to sells guns Bill directly disapproved of for the genral public and is more popular than ever. Bill must be spinning in his grave like a fucking top. Good. FUCK BILL RUGER. |

Thanks for that OP, we've never seen that before.
Did you know a man walked on the fucking moon? |

In fact, his name right there on that SR556 AR-15 in my safe, complete with a high capacity magazine. I take a certain pleasure in owning that rifle, since it's a big middle finger, in-your-face to Bill Ruger that he can't do anything about. |

If you extended the same scrutiny to everything you bought you would be hard pressed to continue your current lifestyle and that is from companies that actively hound us not some dead guy that has nothing to do with nothing.
Oh well. More ruger for the rest of us. |

Bill's cold and in the ground, and they make fine firearms. I own several. S&W would probably be a more appropriate target for your ire, since they still make pieces with the Hillary Hole.

It's ironic, because over the past 20 years Ruger has become the company gun owners wished they were back in 1994: HiCap factory mags for the masses, making ARs and small, concealable pistols. And there are still people who hate them.... |

They have greatly atoned for their sins. Bill Ruger has been dead for a long time now, with Ruger bringing many great products to market. They make excellent guns for those on a budget
|

Ruger the company, vs. Ruger the man.
"I'm mad at Ruger." Means the man, not the company. Let's not conflate who we're mad at. let eet go |
|
1. We shouldn't buy Rugers because of the quote of Bill Ruger in regards to magazines.
2. We shouldn't buy S&W because they caved in during the Clinton era and put in hammer locks 3. We shouldn't buy Colts because they are a union organization 4. We should buy H&K's because they hate us. Are you happy now? Let it go he's dead, and Ruger is producing Ar-15's with 30 rnd magazines. |

Quoted: glad the fuckers dead, to bad it wasn't sooner, also glad ruger is on the right path now View Quote Yep. Win/Win If social media had been around and as effective when he said this, he would have been "Zumboed" long before Zumbo. Ruger has made amends, IMO. A RAR in .223 with the 1 in 8" twist is on the short list to purchase. |
|
Fucking get over it. Ruger was probably the most well mass manufactured gun in the US for decades following Winchester's changes in the mid-60's. |
|
He's dead. Ruger Company doesn't are about magazine bans and will sell magazines to the public. If it's any consolation though, Phoenix's sewer department's logo is very similar to the Ruger Eagle.

Henry Ford was an anti-Semite of the first order. He accepted Nazi Germany's highest civilian award on the specific request of Adolf Hitler.
So, should we all not buy Ford products? Glock and Smith&Wesson committed anti RKBA actions that are arguably as bad, and perhaps worse than anything Bill Ruger did. Few rant about their actions. At least Ruger woke up, apologized for his mistakes, repented of them (did not re-commit), and spend millions of dollars supporting all sorts of pro-RKBA causes. Some may remember the ruinous series of anti-gun manufacturer lawsuits than many city mayors were bringing against the gun industry. Had those lawsuits continued, the firearms industry in the US would have been devastated, and perhaps killed off. Ruger money was a big factor in fighting the lawsuits, until Congress enacted the Lawful Commerce in Firearms Act, thus ending the suits, and an immense financial drain on the industry. That's but one example, and there are others. Those of you that profess to be Christians might want to note that since Ruger apologized, repented, and tried to atone for his "sins", it is a Christian's duty to forgive him. |

Ruger kind of gave the bird to dead Bill when they started shipping their SR-556 with three 30-round Pmags.
I have 8 of their guns and I would say there is a good chance I will own more. |

Every single time this thread comes up I wonder if some of you should be allowed to own anything more dangerous than a plastic bucket and shovel.

Thank you 15er for bringing this incredible new revelation to our attention.
