I would rather not post what I paid for it as I got it at cost from a friend that owns a guns shop. The rail is a 15" 2A Armament M-Lok. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Dang! I actually kind of dig that! They need a .308 version, for sure. What does the bolt/carrier look like? |

Rail looks great. Decent sight picture/ cheek weld? Believe it or not, it's perfect for me. I would also add that a side charging upper would probably be better as I have hit my hand every time with charging handle(I guess I've been messing with AR's for too many years). |

That is a beauty OP. How are the ergonomics with that lower compared to a standard AR platform?

More and more I'm thinking I need to buy one of these rifles.
Might make a nice gun to introduce east coasters to the modern rifle world without scaring them off by being too tactical. Good looking gun, OP! Edit: What stock height did you pick? I can't decide between the two Ares offers. |

I didn't know they offered 2. I would assume mine was the standard Monte Carlo stock. |

What barrel nut wrench are you using if you don't mind me asking???

Looks so different.
I want to get one of those lowers to do a precision 6.5 Grendel build. |
|
|
That rifle, in 7.62x39, would sure give a Mini-30 a run for its money.
I like it. ETA - I read the stock feels kind of crappy, as in low quality. Is this true? |
|
|
Is the stock a custom inherent in the design, or will any stock work with a bit of modding?
|
|
|
I really kinda like those lowers. life handed down lemons and the free market delivered hard lemonade.

|
Very nice rifle! I have been on the fence about getting one of these, but now I am sold. |

What's a mini 30 cost? These are like $800+, right? $499 for the lower. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Quoted: It's a standard BCG that's been modified. It comes unassembled, you you need a firing pin, bolt, etc. The pin that holds the rat tail on is also the firing pin retainer. http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn38/rccox/Guns/Ares%20SCR/4F85426F-0569-43A3-9728-ACB5A9B04600.jpg View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Dang! Even without the NY laws I would still want one. I love monte carlo stocks for hunting. |

Dam OP, out of the numerous builds you've done. This one, is my favorite. I'm guessing because it just looks more different than the usual build posted on here. I'm sure a few will like Medicfrost's version more, not me. It looks like a modern AR take on an M14. Pretty Nice !

This lower has the updated 5lb trigger which is nice but hopefully there is an aftermarket one available soon. The trigger and the no bolt hold open/release are my only real complaints. View Quote You know you can order a bolt catch for it from ARES, right? |

That's a nice looking rifle, good job, Op.
Damn, now I want one! |

This is on my short list.
I plan to move my 18" SPR barrel over to it since I'm going short with my ARs now. I also have a Norinco AK Hunter with a 20" barrel to go along side it...both should be 50 state legal with 5-round mags. |

The ergo's are just like any bolt action rifle honestly. The charging handle is the thing that's awkward for me. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:
