Quoted: I hope we get to use another multi-million dollar missile instead of a few inexpensive bullets to shoot down a $30 barroon with $150 worth of gear on it. View Quote Shit I hope they’re not using anything more expensive than an AIM-7 on these shitty balloons. But seriously why not strafe it and be done?? |

Quoted: Seriously. Exactly what should our response be to a hostile nation floating shot over the US? I don't like us having to use F22s and use missiles. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Dunno why, but this thread has a large response of really retarded juvenile posts. Must be something about balloons and little kids I guess. Please, sir: Enlighten us with your Great Knowledge of this airborne phenomena . 'Kay, thanks. Seriously. Has it been noted that the F-22 that took down the Chicom balloon had the callsign "Frank?"

Extremely low profile dumb penetrators to gauge detection capabilities kind of fits.

I bet you can get a deal on hot air balloon rides this weekend.

Third 'unidentified object' shot down over North America

I feel kind of bad for Canada.
I imagine it's exciting for the pilot to shoot something down. We should of let them have this one. |

What hasn't made the news is that one of the other two pairs of F-22s was using the callsign Luke. |

Seems a bit of Pompei syndrome.
We all sit around saying these tremors don't presage a big event. |

In order to downplay Biden’s fuck up over the ballon we’re going to have these fake reports shoved down our throats for the next 6 weeks

Better hurry up and have some more CRT classes and pay for more sexual mutilation, for readiness of course

I suppose the type of aircraft we had at our disposal on scene would have an impact on that, but if we truly lack the capability, we need to snag one of those non-barroons. |

Someone check Ratheon and subsidiaries purchase records for weather balloons, etc.

While I’m skeptical if anything these governments say and do, I have no doubt other nations are begging to fuck us up.
Now seems like a great time given our current leadership. I have direct knowledge that our defense contractors are ramping up building certain systems the government feels they’re going to need in the near future. |

View Quote This is the only part that actually makes sense. If your intent is to spy, you don't go and constantly transmit your findings back to base. Instead, you use burst transmissions with / random intervals and frequencies. That way, you cannot be jammed unless your adversary chooses to effectively jam large swaths of the bands which also screws with everyone else whom you aren't trying to jam. |

Of course the US shot it down. Fuck Castro’s bastard. Worthless fuck. I feel sure somebody in the US military told him we were going to do it and that they didn't care if it hurt his feelings but he could have some aircraft tag along. I mean Xi essentially called him a bitch to his face and he scurried away like he'd crapped himself. |

View Quote I posted a good History Guy piece on balloon shoot downs through history. Canada had a chance with a rogue weather balloon a few years ago. He reported a pair of RCAF F-18s threw a thousand rounds of 20mm at it with no affect. |

I've got an ex girlfriend up there but she went liberal loony, government supporter. We used to still talk a fair bit including some politics but I think covid finally broke her brain, she got bent out of shape when I complemented Canadians on the world's largest trucker convoy. He's definitely one of the worst "world leaders" in his own retarded but completely WEF owned way. Hopefully you guys can win the fight against Ottawa. ETA (and off the topic of shooting down UFOs ) Mmmm, socialized healthcare for everybody is such a great idea. According to the Fraser Institute, Saskatchewan observed surgical wait times averaged 11.9 weeks to see a specialist and an additional 18.1 weeks to receive the surgery in 2021/22. In Alberta, the province observed surgical wait times averaging 14.1 weeks to see a specialist and an additional 19.2 weeks to receive the surgery for the same period. According to the Fraser Institute and Secondstreet.org, Canadian patients waited longer than ever this year for medical treatment, including critical surgeries, treatments, and procedures. In 2021/22, median wait times for Canadians were 27.4 weeks — the longest ever recorded — up from 25.6 weeks in 2021 and 195% higher than the 9.3 weeks in 1993 when the Fraser Institute first tracked wait times. At least 13,581 patients died while waiting for surgeries, procedures, and diagnostic scans in 2021/22 — up from the previous year's total of 11,581. |

Quoted: This is fucking embarrassing. We are being punked by fucking balloons. Eventually one of these is going to be up to no good. NORAD needs to figure out a way to find these earlier, and fund an easier and cheaper way to shoot them down. In the meantime, we need to be doing the same to China. Unfortunately we don't have any friendly nations on the western border of China. I don't think you are going to be able to fuck with them from SK. Maybe if we didn't fucking abandon Bargram we could at least have a way to get to them from the west. View Quote Spoiler alert. This is only an unknown quantity to people not currently in the gov with need to know. NORAD can likely see them just fine, and early. It’s a matter of waiting until they are out of international airspace. It’s a publicity stunt now because people got inflamed and “fucking embarrassed” when they heard about it on tv. |

View Quote Then launch 1000 ballon's armed with conventionalJDAMs etc. While a/c are busy, launch enough troop ships that the US can't stop them all. Then follow up with more balloons to deplete ADA etc assets followed by a limited ICBMs launches with conventional warheads. Make the US respond with the first nuke or wait to see who turns the key. China could keep the warheads conventional and warn against any nuke retaliation. Question is, who will open the canned sunshine first. |

Just imagine if China launched a few thousand of these things. That would really soak up our AIM9X inventory.
