Unreal. This is the sort of comment I'd expect from an anti-gun liberal.
I rejoined NYSRPA last year to support them in their SCOTUS case against NYC. I'm up for renewal but I won't be doing that now, as there is no way I can overlook this nonsense. So out of touch. He's a member here by the way, but probably not active. |

Ok, let's take your logic and run with it. How many Republicans have made comments supporting some level of gun control? ALL OF THEM, including Rand Paul and Ted Cruz. By your logic we should not only work to remove every single politician from office but we should work to destroy the GOP because their statements are indefensible. View Quote "Keeping guns out of the wrong hands and enforcing the laws on the books," indeed. |

That's all you got? Go on dispute what I said. If one member of the BoD stating his personal opinion is grounds to "burn it to the ground" then every Republican supporting some level of gun control is more than enough to "burn it to the ground". You guys made up that logic not me. So now defend it. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Quoted: Do you believe that Tom King should resign? Do you believe the NRA and NYSRPA should adopt his position that 80% lowers and frames need to be banned? Will you ever pick a side, and if so, will it be the side of liberty or the side of incremental gun bans? View Quote |

And Tim Knight made his comments publicly calling for Wayne's removal. Does that mean the official position of the NRA is that Wayne should be removed? Both people were BoD members and neither have any authority to speak on behalf of any organization. Organizations have specific people designated to make official statements that represent the entire organization. Did Tom King say "As a director of the NRA we believe 80% guns should be banned"? Nope, he didn't mention anything about the NRA or NYSRPA, the media included that. Meaning he is connected to those organizations but was not making any official statement on behalf of the organization. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

He is one person, not the whole organization Wouldn't you agree? Did the article quoting him refer to him as "a director of the NRA and head of affiliate group NYSRPA..?" Why yes, yes they did. So yes, what he says in public damn sure reflects on the orgs he controls and represents. You're trying to have your cake ("it's just his opinion") and eat it too (the NRA is purging anyone who speaks out against it's indefensible leadership, publicly or privately) |

Try reading the thread. I've already said Tom King is an idiot who was running his mouth. That is the only thing that has happened and my statement answers all your questions. The NRA should not support any new gun control, period. They should also work to gain back some of the rights we lost. A question about your question of "picking a side". Every single Republican in the House, Senate, and White House supports some level of gun control. If you draw the line where did, then that means you must vote against every single Republican in office otherwise you are supporting the incremental gun bans. Are you going to sit the next election out since there is no perfect candidate? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Jesus man....he's on the board of the NRA and giving public statements on firearms....do you think anyone in the world besides you believes it's his personal opinion and not a representative of the NRA? 2 - Anyone on a BoD should be smart enough to know that ANY public statements they give reflect on the organization they work for....it’s part of the job. You don’t give up your right to an opinion, but you better absolutely learn when to keep your mouth shut....this would be one of those times. |

Just out of curiosity, how many home built guns, or completed 80% kits are used in crimes? My suspicion is very few; so that raises the question: what is this real objection? View Quote Those facts combined with the New York angle of this story... it's about banning private gunsmithing, nothing more. Beaucoup bucks to be reaped by licensed big name manufacturers and FFLs that way. Same with the mandatory carry or hunting training you must buy from an NRA instructor. Yeah, they can't take their hand guns out of state, and only to like three ranges otherwise, else they risk prosecution if pulled over by a cop. I think it was just handguns, but maybe it extends to their trap shotties as well.

Fuck him, maybe some bad dudes are getting 80% lowers and making rifles, I don't know and honestly don't give a fuck, freedom sucks eh. What I do know is the .gov doesn't like anyone having guns that they don't know about.

NRA Board Member and head of the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Tom King, speaking out against our ability to legally make firearms for our personal collections and use. “These '80 percent' guns are providing a way for prohibited people to buy a firearm,” Tom King of the NYSRPA said https://www.nysenate.gov/newsroom/in-the-news/anna-m-kaplan/nys-legislation-would-ban-untraceable-ghost-guns The head of the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association said the sale of ghost guns is a growing problem. “These '80 percent' guns are providing a way for prohibited people to buy a firearm,” Tom King of the NYSRPA said, referring to people who don’t have a gun permit or are otherwise prohibited from possessing a gun. He said self-assembled guns provide a way for competition shooters to make a custom-fitted firearm. Such weapons should have serial numbers and be registered — and any new legislation should consider such a provision, he said. But it appears increasingly, King said, people trying to evade the law are the ones buying and selling self-assembled weapons. “It appears what was meant to be something for competitive shooters and serious shooters to build their own unique firearm may be turning into a criminal enterprise,” King said. page 7 is awful late to the party but I'm just here to say FUCK Tom King.
Also, it's worth noting that the ability to possess arms without the knowledge or consent of the government is, in itself, an expression of freedom. |

The NRA seems to be hell bent on destroying itself; until they clean house and rebuild I won't rejoin. Sadly, I don't see them doing that.

So he was removed from his position immediately, yes? I mean, of course he was fired on the spot, right? View Quote It seems the few good folks that were still on the board have bailed as the legal problems from internal fuckery became too much to risk. The NRA is mortally wounded. |
