I've stripped them down and it's not too difficult. The new version has been upgraded with a better front sight, stock, forend, threaded barrel and they'll be adding some new models eventually that will take mags from the M&P and XD/M. The weight and portability of the Sub2K is a big plus. Until someone else copies it, it's the only choice. I've had 2 G17 versions and neither has malfunctioned with any ammo. Serious question, how are the ergonomics when inserting a magazine designed for pistols? Probably not too hard with practice, but it seems straight or a forward slant would be easier. Like an AR/MP5. Though with the CZ Evo coming out and magazines being cheap (~$15 in Czech Republic) I think this thing is a bit "meh". Unless you have a lot of Glock mags and that is the only reason you want it.

If someone made a 9mm carbine that took glock mags, but was styled similar to an M1 carbine or ruger 10/22, I would be all over it.

Excuse my ignorance (never played with a pistol caliber carbine) but would this be noticeably quieter to shoot than a pistol? No. Longer barrel says yes, it will be quieter. No specs on the barrel/bolt? UTG garbage? I'll pass. |

While interesting, a little bit.
I would much rather have a 9mm upper that didn't use the stock AR recoil system, thus allowing folding stocks. Left side charging handle would be nice as well. The ability to use Glock mags is some what lost on me. While I have a shit ton of G17 mags, I also have 20 9mm AR mags and don't care for the appearance of the angled back mag. So, I guess I am saying.....meh. |
