Lived alone since leaving my parents house so I have never had a Christmas tree in my apartment/house.

Going to work last night I noticed one of the  neighbors already had their tree up, decorated, and in the front window for all to see.

If I ever put up a tree I think the ideal time is between the 10th and 15th of December and it should come down the first weekend of the New Year.

When do you put your Christmas tree up?

There are a bunch of people roun here that have decorations up. I went to my woman's place for a get together last night. She owns a condo...people had Christmas decorations up all over the place. She said nope..it ain't time..placed a pumpkin on her balcony that has a dick carved in it...She had originally told me it qas going to be a middle finger. Her son and his girl came down from Colorado for an extended weekend. He carved it.

I don't put up a tree. Also can't see if someone else has their tree up so really no idea. The time of year from around thanksgiving till after the first of the year when we get together we are off hunting somewhere, not looking at someone elses Christmas tree.

I don't have a tree, but when I was growing up, we always put the tree up on the day after Thanksgiving.

I just finished putting mine up. Usually it's closer to Xmas, but I'm going hunting next weekend and my daughter is coming to town for Today. She likes that shit.

The weekend following Thanksgiving is when we do it. No real reason other than I like it that way and that's what we started.

But I don't care what other people do. It's their business.

i dont put up any of that shit. i dont have all day to set it up then take it all down.

but to each their own. maybe they are into it ? joyous people. its America... if they feel like setting it up in October go for it.
it looks nice. its not my thing, i have better shit to do.

The poll needs a "Never took it down from last year" option.

Several around here have theirs up. I’ll put out the outside stuff tomorrow since it’s suppose to rain Tuesday and Wednesday. We’ll probably put the tree up Tuesday night. We are going away Wednesday for the next 7 days so it’ll all be done when we get back then I can light stuff up.

I attribute it to peoples general lack of discipline and  need for instant gratification.

They probably tearing into the Christmas gifts the 2nd week of December cause they just can’t wait any longer.

Bingo. Who cares?

I enjoy the holiday season, and like to see them up early. It’s a nice two-ish months of happiness and not being yelled at for my political beliefs.

My in laws visited yesterday.  We aren't going to be able to celebrate Christmas with them, so we made thanksgiving dinner and put up the tree and decorated the house.

Nah.  They are just fixated on the artificial “feeling” of Christmas nostalgia.  The holiday has been surgically separated from it’s intent by some eastern syndicate

I had very little to with my family. I remember my parents had a very tall cathedral ceiling and one year my mom wanted the tallest tree they could fit in there. Tree was probably 6" diameter at the bottom. It was too tall so my dad instead of cutting some off the bottom cut a few feet off the top and we had a flat top Christmas tree. They had to attach  cables to hold it up. I on't do Christmas trees lol. That was my houth in a nut shell.

I don't allow any Christmas decorations, Christmas music, or Christmas movies in the house until Thanksgiving dinner is eaten and cleaned up.  And then the tradition is to watch A Christmas Story that evening as the formal start to the Christmas season.

Lest you think that is too strict if I didn't set that rule the women in my family would have the trees up after Halloween.  My daughter convinced her husband to put up their tree a couple of weeks ago.

Ours is up because we're leaving Dec 16th so we wanted time to enjoy it.

Also, last few years we put it up at the beginning of November and every night the family writes something they're thankful for on a leaf and hang it from the tree.

I put the tree up; the wife decorates it. I’m a teacher so I’ll usually put it up this week( usually the first day she has to work).

I also don't have a tree, and my family also put the tree up the day after Thanksgiving.  Sometimes the tree went up Thanksgiving night, but it always got decorated the day after.

I always decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving.

I understand why people do it earlier though. Once I had kids and older age started doing it's thing, November and December began to go by like a blink of the eye. Seems like two weeks not two months now.

My outside lights and Christmas tree usually go up during the first week of December and come down on Epiphany Day (January 6th).
