When this thing comes out, I'm gonna be real patient and wait a couple weeks. Then I'm gonna go in on a Tuesday for the earliest showing they've got. I'm gonna buy the expensive first class seat on the top deck with the tables for arm rests and no kids allowed. I'm gonna get a tub of heavily buttered popcorn and a cherry coke. Hell, I might even get some skittles. Then I'm going to relive my childhood. I'm not taking my wife or my kids so there's no fuck-ups, spills or distractions. This is going to be everything I wanted the last three craptastic movies to be. |

That trailer with the sound turned off at work is already better than Episode 1,2 and 3 combined.
Abrams can't possibly screw this up in my mind. My expectations are so incredibly low after the prequels that it could just be 120 minutes of lens flare in space and it would be passable. FWIW, you can say what you want about the two new Star Trek movies and how they changed Star Trek but at least they were good movies in their own right. If the prequels didn't have "Star Wars" in the brand, they would have been judged far more poorly by critics than they already were. JJ will do at least a C+ job with his hand tied behind his back and I can live with that. |
