I"m no fan of Streamlight...I used to work in their repair department and will tell you that SL would accept components that were not up to specs.  I don't know if they are still following this practice, but there are some greedy upper management running that company.

I'd look at other companies before I ever bought a Streamlight.

Hey genius, of all the replies to your post, this is the only one you choose to reply to? We're still waiting for a link to the 1000 lumen lights in this size class, and we ain't getting any younger.

I'll stick with my TLR2 HL G at 800 lumens with a green laser. As for the "backsplash" complaints, they must be using "mirrors" for walls because I don't have any problem using the 1,000 lumen flashlights that I have inside my house with regular white colored walls. Now, if you're goofy enough to stand 5 ft. or less, away and shine the light directly at the wall in front of you, then you will get some backsplash.  But 7 ft. or more and no problem, unless you suffer from cataracts.

LOL, contrary to what the woman in your life has told you, size does matter. Have you tried to appendix or IWB carry a G17 with a X-300U attached? It's not fucking comfortable. And sine when is 500 lumens "shit tier visibility"? That may be the most retarded thing I'll read all day. I've taken a low-light handgun course with a 200 lumen light and it was more than sufficient. Are you trying to ID targets with your pistol light at 75 yards? That's what rifle lights are for. But we get it, you overpaid for a Surefire and now have to shit on anything else in order to justify your purchase. That's cool, carry on.

I enjoy their amateur comments or their "real world" experience, compared to real world experiences.

Real world experience.

Even though this guy got good hits the suspect got right up on him and he had to drive the gun right into the dirt bag to end the fight (at contact distance.)

Maybe the dirt bag would have died, maybe he had a few more seconds and a few more rounds left to kill the officer.

He wasn't going to wait to find out.

@Klaustrophobia what rail adapter did you use for a TLR-2 on the Mk23?  Streamlight has rail adapters for USPs, but I've never seen anything to fit the Mk23 without going to a picatinny adapter in between

Why would you put a wide as fuck and long as fuck light on a compact pistol?

500 lumens is plenty of light for anything you'd use a handgun for. Having the light be as wide and long ad the gun means it doesn't add to the overall dimensions of the pistol and therefore doesn't make it harder to conceal.

If you're adding a light that's significantly longer and wider than the pistol you're mounting it to, your holster is also going to be longer and wider. At that point you night as well carry a larger pistol since you're already giving up the length and width.

Yeah it's got a picatinny adapter on the Mark 23's rail.  The one I'm using now is a 3-d printed thing from a member on HKpro.  Adequate, but not the most durable thing in the world.  The guy that made it used me for a tester, and I managed to break one by shooting .45 super.  It's held up under normal loads though.  HKparts has a metal one that is the first one I ever used, but it looks like ass and is stupid expensive for what it is.  I gave it away with the Mark 23 I traded for an AUG.  I haven't tried it, but the best option currently IMO is the GG&G metal adapter.  If I find myself needing a new metal one, I'll buy the GG&G.

this post is worthless without pics:

This is the 3-d printed plastic adapter.  Rugged Obsidian in short config.
