I remember reading about that and the Mazda 626 all wheel steering versions in Car and Driver in 1988 (if I remember correctly). |

Quoted: I remember reading about that and the Mazda 626 all wheel steering versions in Car and Driver in 1988 (if I remember correctly). View Quote I really wish it had stuck because IMO, taken to the next level, it could have evolved to something like a self-aligning car. Always thought it's be awesome if a car could automatically adjust or perform a perfect four wheel alignment at start up or at the push of a button. |

Quoted: For me, it's the Cavalier Z24 https://live.staticflickr.com/3124/2672637405_6f34875cc6_c.jpg and the Chevy Beretta. https://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/C5909-R405-0017-700x456-610x397.jpg To this day I'd still like to have one of each of these. But they're available in good condition with 5-digit mileage for under 15k, so I think it should qualify. It had a 4.5 liter V8 that made all of 180 HP... but I still dig 'em, and if I had the expendable cash and garage space, I'd own one. View Quote Wealthy friend here scooped up a late '80s custard yellow 450 SL with a beautiful tobacco brown interior...176,000 miles...for $3K and change. I thought he was nuts, but it turns out those things are actually mechanically very strong. It doesn't have quite the panache of an early '70s pagoda-roofed 280 SL, but those are demanding serious money now. Great lines, comfortable, manual top...perfect for a weekend cruiser. |

- 73’ Duster, lime green, 318, my first car and I’d buy one today, but they got pricey after more popular cars became cost prohibitive.
- El Camino - always wanted one - had a 70 1/2 Pontiac Formula 455. Wouldn’t mind doing that again. - CRX - I don’t want one, but the wife had one. Crazy amount of cargo space for a small car. But small it was and a cube van literally drug her off the highway, while exiting. He never saw her and the CRX got caught in his wheel well. |

Quoted: 1989 Dodge Daytona G/S, I bought one from the PX in West Germany. Perfect car for a single E-5, just a little over 10 grand, insurance was dirt cheap. It was a dog, but cruised well on the interstate. I wouldn't mind having one again some day if the right car came along. |

I wish my ‘93 Ford Probe had a manual and it was a GT.
I miss my MKIV VW GTI. That was a stupid fun car. I would loved to have had a Eclipse GST. So many cars so little time. |

The main reason I noticed them in the yard was they had about 80% parts interchange with the vehicle I used to deliver pizzas with, an 88 Yugo. So what was up with those cars? Why so many very nice examples in the junk yard. Back then? |

I want a mid 90s Camary with a stick. Bonus points for coupe. My dad purchased a company and they had a brand new one with a stick that none of the employees wanted for a company car so he took it as his commuter car. He had a blast hooning the little Camary.

Quoted: I think the Volvo 200 series station wagon (technically, a Volvo 245 I guess) is one of the greatest cars ever made. View Quote One of the folks here on ARFCOM ( Exorpmtech ) has a Officer using a 245 as a battering ram on a door in his Avatar. I dated a girl in High School whose parents wanted us to drive their in 70's 245 on dates figuring it was a 'safe car'. However since it was a Station Wagon, two teens could fold down the rear seats at the back of a dark drive in and sure have some "fun" (which I'm sure her parents would NOT have approved of... ) |

After I wrap up a couple other projects, I actually want to buy a Cobalt SS TC, Volvo 240, or E30/E36 BMW.

I had a 1995 Dodge Avenger with the stick transmission.. I swear some designer was drugged out when spec's came out.. It has the Mitsubishi Eclipse transmission, a Dodge Neon SRT engine {without the governor} , Mitsubishi Galant chassis, A Viper/Stealth ground effect package.
Not a racer, but I could keep cruise control at 120mph on the I-10 west of El Paso heading towards San Antonio. |

Quoted: I still have a thing for 3rd gen Camaros. When I see one in good shape it still grabs my attention. But I’ll never own another one because they are such pieces of crap View Quote I like to look at mine but some day soon I need to come to terms with it and part ways. It's nothing more than a money pit. I passed on a damn good deal a long time to buy a genuine Ferrari Testarosa for $5000, just needed a motor and interior. If I had bought that and stored it while fixing it I would be money ahead right now. I even went and looked at it, instead I spent money on a damn AR50 and gun shit. I guess I was more than stupid in those days. |
