A 3060 is about all I really need to make the most of my first gen Ryzen. Approx double the performance of my old 1060 (see EE). Yeah, I'd love even a 3070, but I've been in queue for a year. And it's not like I want to cough up another $700 for CPU/mobo.
3090?? |

Im sticking with my RTX 2080Ti for a bit longer.
These video prices are out the roof crazy. I dont expect much gain going to a 3000 series card right now. The only thing I run mine for is DCS using TrackIR and occasionally my Samsung Odyssey Plus. No real gain to upgrade just yet. |

On a side note the 3070 I paid an arm and leg for for a new build comes this week.

Can't believe the AMD 5700 GPU I bought for $305 over a year ago is still a great GPU for the money.
Come June it will be 2 years old. |

Sooooo..... We will ALL be able to get these at MSRP right..... ?

Damn, the guy that buys the only one produced will have an awesome rig.

I paid $850 for a RTX 3060ti last month. Feel like I got a steal in this current market

3090?!
Blowing my mind as it did at the time, I guess I quit paying attention after getting a 1050ti. Yep, 2018 was the year I could finally run Minesweeper with the graphics turned all the way up. |

I'm still entering NewEggs' shuffles and cruising best buys hoping to stumble upon a 3060ti or a 3070 :(
though intel is theoretically shipping their ARC GPUs to OEMs right now(according to their CES livestream I'm watching) maybe more manufacturers = better availability? |

View Quote @Third_Rail LMAO!!! My 960 is still plugging along.. but I also dont play the latest and greatest anymore. |

I got a PS5 on launch day, so of course I used up all of my luck on that and can't find a new GPU to save my life.

The 3080 has been out for more than a year. I've been checking regularly since release, but haven't had any luck with several sources. I'm still months out from notification on the EVGA wait list.
Is it too early to get on the 4080 wait list? |

I would love to upgrade from my current 980, but the 3080 and 3080ti have been just about completely unavailable since launch unless you want to pay stupid prices to scalpers. It's quite frustrating.
I like that Nvida is continuing to improve but FFS, it almost doesn't matter when no one can actually get one. |

Quoted: I completely agree. Mind you, I am still rocking a standard 1080 over here, so not flexing or whatever. They are not the same card though. The 3070 isn't a remake or of the 2080ti or something, just because they share some similar results in some games, with some settings. A graphics card that exists is better than one that doesn't. I don’t understand what you’re trying to even debate. The stuff in red is precisely what gamers talk about. Each year new GPUs come out. (You know this) Then someone goes: should I upgrade my xxxx to a yyyy? Then they get a response: those two are pretty similar. You might see a 5% increase. Is it worth the extra money to you? You’ll see a better increase if you go to zzzz, but that’s even more money. Maybe wait for the next generation. The dude has a 2080ti. It’s not a 3070. I didn’t say it was. But it’s close enough to a 3070 that it puts him in a good place where it doesn’t scream “upgrade time!” |
