Anybody else think the king of Northumbria looks just like the burger king mascot?

Two thoughts: 1. Anyone else find Toady getting chest-axed immensely satisfying? 2. Earl's wife shanking her son-in-law seemed a questionable decision at best. I mean, a) that dude at the time (i.e. pre-wannabe earl Rollo's proposal) probably represented her's and her daughter's best shot at surviving the immediate future, and b) if Baldy's relatives come complaining, if I were in Ragnar's shoes, I wouldn't think twice about handing her over to them. Solves two problems at once. 1. Yes that made my day, I hated that guy! Me too! I worked with a little hairy fuck that reminded me of that Toady bastage. Wanted to stick something sharp in him many times. This guy getting killed in the show was a great feeling for me. I know, I am sick. |

I wonder what was up with ragnar kneeling down there. The one time he looked insecure, kind of like a kid who wants to be like the Christians.

not... a good idea to cross vikings... Northumbria should have paid off, but then if you know history you know what eventually happens. |

great episode and the king keeps overestimating his forces. His army must be very depleted to give in and pay Ragnar.

Looks like Ragnar's wife miscarried. Yeah, but we know that's not the case, unless I missed something. I think they are going to go with the Ivar the Boneless being deformed angle, which is what I hoped. After listening to the interviews of the cast and directors, I thought this episode would be something fantastic, since that was their favorite one. The battle was decent, but on a whole, it seemed underwhelming. In the past few episodes, they were portrayed as warriors with a deep culture, and in this one it seemed like the directors wanted them to be seen as the brigands and violent thieves that they were. And what's up with the priest in the next episode? Sheesh some man of faith he turned out to be, lol. |

Anyone else think that Floki may be a bit more than he seems? He seems a bit... too close... to the Norse gods, if you catch what I'm saying.

Theres only two episode s left Seriously? That was a dumb move by History. That's not even half a season. |

Someone (Siggy I bet) poisoned Lagertha with an abortive, I'm guessing.
I'd be worried if I were the son right about now. Remember, Siggy's own sons were killed by someone. Will be interesting to see Lagertha's reaction if she finds out her kids are being killed off.

Its a freaking great show. I had the opportunity to apply for a role as an extra, and like an idiot i passed it up. Hopefully ill get a chance for season 2. |

Wow, the English had the most horrible strategy and tactics I've ever seen. The Norsemen fight differently and you can see the size disparity when the walk into the great hall. They think that their civilized army is superior to these barbarians. Did you guys see Rollo commenting on the quality if their weapons? When we'll the Swedish envoy show up asking to speak with their king? |

Otherwise I think him harping on Rollo's conversion like that is pretty contrived. Either way, calling out the thin-skinned, insecure killer of the group seems like a bad idea. |

Floki will see it coming, if he doesn't already. |

Thought last nights episode kicked ass. Away from the drama with the earl to just being badass raiding vikings. I thought Loki was awesome.

I think the Ragnar is genuinely impressed with the Christian God. After all, the Christians seem to be wealthier, better armed and more numerous. For a people who believe in the close presence of an active god or gods in their lives, the Christian God seems to take better care of his believers. Even his slave refused to break his vow of celibacy. This must have had a profound effect on Ragnar. It probably made him respect his slave and the God of the slave mush more. I think that he finds Christianity intriguing. Ragnar is an intensely religious man.
