I re-used it in a few places when I joined various platforms depending upon what was available and my level of effort at the time. When I joined Arfcom, I had no idea I would be an active member here for well over a decade with 40k+ posts and counting. And also grew out of it. I wanted to change my username well before the name change tool went live, but when that finally happened, I couldn't think of anything. I'm not sure I completely love the new username, but it's more appropriate both for this community and who I am today. Via The Athletic, the Commanders were in position to trade up to #7 with the Raiders to take Anthony Richardson if he fell to that point.
Was never gonna fall that far. I still 100% believe the Seahawks would have taken him at 5 if the Colts didn't take him at 4, but it's interesting information none-the-less. |

It’s amazing. Mahomes is young, famous, won multiple Super Bowls, is the face of the NFL, signed a half billion dollar contract, and as is, I actually pity him.

I can't remember which comedian it was, maybe Bill Burr. He had an awesome bit after Oprah lectured people on being too fat, that she was rich enough to hire someone to follow her around slapping food out of her hand shouting NO! Now that I write that out, I don't think it was him. It might have been part of Amy Schumer's joke stealing scandal. |

Jahmyr Gibbs on meeting Barry Sanders: "He's my favorite player, like ever, so I've been watching him for a while. Yeah, just meeting him was crazy, a historical moment for me."

The New England Patriots announced today that former linebacker Mike Vrabel has been voted into the Patriots Hall of Fame by the fans as the 34th inductee. Vrabel joins Troy Brown (2012), Tedy Bruschi (2013), Kevin Faulk (2016), Ty Law (2014), Matt Light (2018), Willie McGinest (2015) and Richard Seymour (2022) as the eighth player to enter the Patriots Hall of Fame as a three-time Super Bowl Champion with the team.
"It's my pleasure to announce Mike Vrabel as this year's selection to the Patriots Hall of Fame," said Kraft. "Mike's leadership and versatility were principal to one of the most successful eras in franchise history, propelling the Patriots to three Super Bowl titles in four years and establishing multiple NFL records for consecutive-game win streaks. Many Patriots players have made contributions in all three phases of the game, but none more significantly than Mike. He was an eight-year starter on defense who also regularly contributed on special teams and is the only player in NFL history to score touchdowns on his first 10 career receptions, including touchdowns in back-to-back Super Bowl victories. He was respected for his football intellect and was destined to become a head coach in this league. I look forward to welcoming him back to New England, where his induction will preserve his legacy as one of the greatest players in franchise history." |

Regarding the Titans switching to Turf: "I don't love it. I've always enjoyed playing on grass more than turf," Ryan Tannehill said in his Wednesday press conference. "It's just easier on your body, your joints, your skin as you're on the ground. But, that's where we're at, right? We've played a lot of games on turf, we're going to play a lot more games on turf now.
"I don't think it affects the quality of the game or anything. But it definitely affects how you feel the next day." |

Confirming the earlier reports/rumors, the Kansas City Chiefs will play the Chicago Bears in Germany in the 2023 season. The other German game will be the New Orleans Saints vs the New England Patriots.
The two games will take place during weeks 10 and 11. Both in Frankfurt. Notable because the Hunt family have a relationship with FC Bayern who play at Munich Allianz Arena where the Bucs/Seahawks game was played last season. It is also being rumored that the Chiefs have already been selected for a Germany game in 2024 as well, vs the Panthers. |

Via The Athletic : Behind the scenes on Titans draft night: How Peter Skoronski landed in Tennessee
A few of the interviews were memorable. He enjoyed time with Steelers coach Mike Tomlin and seemed to connect with Titans coach Mike Vrabel. "I liked his energy," Skoronski says. The conversation was a little less comfortable with the Falcons - undoubtedly by design. Skoronski had been told that some interviewers are purposely abrasive in an attempt to see how prospects react. He was prepared. "The head coach was on me the second I got in there," Skoronski says of Arthur Smith. "I was giving them generic answers to their questions, and he said, 'You're really boring me right now. Your answers are so boring.' The whole meeting, he kept looking at his computer. I was kind of laughing to myself and said, 'Sorry, I don't know what you want me to do. I'm answering you honestly.'" His visit to Lambeau Field also did not encourage him about a future with the team. He underwent medical testing and met with offensive line coach Luke Butkus - that was it. "If I hadn't been a Packers fan," he says, "I probably would have considered it a waste of time." |

Why does he make it sound like this was a huge contract negotiation? All the totals are already set by the NFL. The only discussion to be had is arranging the signing bonus/cap numbers/language. |
