GREAT SUCCESS! I found a fitting that I needed among all my shit in the garage and it actually worked perfectly. Much better than how the previous homeowners had it rigged up.

Actually I realized that if a hose was going to break and spray a geyser of water up into my house even though I got soaked I was pretty lucky to be standing there and not oh...gone for a weekend.

Sump pump line blew while I was standing over it watching the water go down.

So I got soaked along with half the things in the laundry room.

So that's a fun project for this afternoon.

Welcome to home ownership.

Also, is a sump pump for a house the same as for a fish tank? Is this a thing basements have? I don’t remember one in my last house with a basement, but I was also 5 or something.

Southerners are weird.

We don’t have basements. We are unfamiliar with the voodoo that accompanies them.

I did take the imps to an estate sale once, and the house had a basement. They thought it was the wildest, wackiest thing ever. An entire set of rooms under the house.

Spare bedroom and/or storage unit.

Even with a half/split level/basement our house is smoll.

Our original plan was sell it and buy something bigger once we were doing better but with the housing market and how much money we've dumped into this house we're just like....fuck it, we're staying.

I shouldnt complain. Its cheap to live in and we dont really need a lot of space. Just....a little more would be nice. Bigger rooms at least.

First trick-or-treaters of the day.

Not likely to many on this side of the park. The big subdivision over on the other side usually gets most of the kids. Houses are built on top of one another and the average family is younger with more kids over there.

Utility room, wood shop, gun room, guest room, laundry room, extra food storage room (freezer, second fridge, shelving), kids play area, third bathroom, dog's room, back yard access . . .

In the new house that we close on 12/1.

Current house doesn't have a basement.

I hate Joe Biden just as much as any good American but really....hes not the one in charge. Theres a group of handlers calling the shots and they're just using him as the face of their organization. Those are the people I really hate.

In some small way, I almost feel a little sorry for Joe and how they're treating him. Hes an old man with diminished mental capabilities thats being taken advantage of.

I remember the running joke. I vaguely remember the one I had as a kid, so it isn’t a completely foreign concept to me, but it  really was utterly absurd to the imps.
