It's pure Arfcom to start a post that looks at professions negatively. Rather than "what professions do you see as noble" we get "overrated noble professions".
I know it's all edgy and popular around here to shit on anything and everything else folks will lose their man-card, but give it a bit of a rest. Anyways.... Alabama - Forty hour week (for a livin') |

Anyone who sells anything, buys anything, or processes anything as a career. Anyone who sells anything bought or processed, or buys anything sold or processed, or processes anything sold, bought, or processed, or repairs anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career.

Meh, I'll play then. I see a lot of tradesmen think they are noble. Electricians, mechanics, plumbers, etc. Worst are the damn linemen. A storm knocked out the power. Remember all the linemen working OT and getting paid big money to restore power that is their job in the first place.

The honest-to-God answer is: All of them.
The only truly Noble professions are the ones who get the least respect: Car Mechanics, Plumbers (the honest ones) The Painters, Roofers, HVAC installers, Garbage men.. You know..the people that make Civilized society possible for the rest of us. God bless them all. I had this eppifiny the other day: Thank God I have a well paid specialized skill, because I could never make a good living in the trades. It's hard, physical work. Every single day. I've always been a do it yourselfer, but I would never be able to get it done fast enough to make a good living. Also, the Military. Combat Arms trigger pullers are Nobel. |
