Just need a ACOG and a German shepherd. Throw a Surefire at it
Go find a tub some place |

Forgive my naivete in advance, but how does this work? Does the "auto" switch on the lower just not work, so it's got everything you'd expect in an M4 with the exception of burst mode or full auto?

It certainly looks the part, looks like my issued M4.
Guessing not Knights furniture though. |

Gross I love PSA but I’m in on both of my BCM/colt clones for less than that . Make it 6-700 and id bite

Is P&S still the contract holder after the USG bought the tech stuff from KAC? P&S to my knowledge is basically a copy of the KAC RAS. |

If the rail free float or not? Kind of looks not and also what profile is the barrel under the handguards? SOCOM or Govt?

I sold my previous M4A1 clone and been thinking about replacing it. That thing looks the part forsure

I've got one of their 14.7 chf socom barrels from years ago that is one of my favorite. I've had it a long time but accuracy is still top notch.

I'm guessing the 14.7 is a pin/weld, even though it doesn't say it?

View Quote Bro, shhhhh, you’ll give away our secret to the ATF. As I’m sure you know, ALL AR15s are actually full auto, we just tell the public they’re semi auto so as to keep the “man” off our backs. |

Were military M4A1s ever offered or seen with barrel lengths other than 14.5"?

Correct. The 14.7” is pinned and welded to an A2 Flash Hider.

Does the "auto" switch on the lower just not work, so it's got everything you'd expect in an M4 with the exception of burst mode or full auto? View Quote Assuming you're new to guns. It's just engraved "AUTO". Many lowers have that engraved there. They aren't drilled for the third pin to hold or relieved within for the space to accommodate actual M4(A1) burst-fire (or full-auto) components. With most semi-auto fire control components, you won't even be able to switch the selector to the "AUTO" position. A newly manufactured select-fire(burst or full-auto) firearm would not be transferable to an average buyer. Pre-1986-made select-fire firearms are available through the NFA process and cost $xx,xxx. |

It says M4 profile barrel. I really don’t know what that means exactly.
|
|
That's exactly what my 9 year old is begging for, of course with an ACOG as well

@Jman_JJE the description for the 10.5 upper lists that it has a side sling mount, yet the photos show standard sling mount on the A frame, can you give some clarification on this?

Not really, you’d be hard pressed to build an M4 clone for less than what PSA is asking, without compromising on parts’ quality. Can be done, but not as easily as in years past. You could almost build a 14.5” BCM upper for the same $750-$780 that PSA asks for their 14.7” Almost, BCM build is closer to $800-$850, you’d also have to source parts from multiple places and pay a bit more for shipping, may or may not be able to get an RAS for good price. Except it would be a standard barrel, not a FN CHF barrel. And BCM is currently offering their BCG for free. If not for that, the BCM route would be closer to $1000 for the upper. Full rifle from PSA is damn hard to beat, a barebones 6920 is around the same price as PSA’s M4 clone. Not sure why they call it an M4A1 when it’s a gov’t profile barrel, though. Also, DUPE! |

View Quote I had thought the A1 started using the “SOCOM” profile. I am really interested in one of these I like supporting PSA because I know they are not backstabbing the 2A community and they are constantly striving to up their game. I remember when they first started all the hate from here on them and they just kept cranking out rifles and always trying to make their customers happy. I have been buying tons of the AAC ammo and finally did a PA10. I might do the 16” though because I have a DD M4 rail that would be perfect for this. I honestly do not care if it is 100% clone correct I just like the look and brings back memories or maybe I will not change it and get a 14.7” or in ARFCOM fashion both, |
|
If you can install a P&S rail, pistol grip, and stock yourself the M4 marked Colt OEM1 is a better buy. May not be M4A1 profile but no one is going to choose a PSA gun over that, nor will the PSA be worth a fourth as much 20 years from now.
It’s cool they’re doing all these clones don’t get me wrong, but this one is kind of meh. |

This is a breath of fresh air.
Wish it was available years ago. Cloning stuff out was a nightmare for a while. Plenty of folks would be like "just get this upper, track down a 14.7 barrel, then go here and get this lower, wait for the sight on the EE, then try to get the rails. Send it to ADCO to pin the FSB and you're all set!" All of that was doable, but it was a massive pain in my ass. Would jump on this if I still needed an M4. I appreciate that the parts look deliberate and faithful. |
