Sellers was amazing. He was so funny, it is just ridiculous. It doesn't matter how many times I watch his movies, I still laugh.

He was brilliant! He was magnificent in Strangelove.
He was the reason “Rewind” was invented—I laugh so hard I miss the other lines, so I have to rewind. In the 1970s, you had to buy another ticket when I saw this in the theater in 1976. |

Not any more it's not. https://i.gifer.com/j7z.gif Burt Kwouk was great in his own regard. View Quote The parallel bar is my favorite scene in all the PP series, with the globe one a close second. Oh wait! I forgot about the scene where he tries to cross a moat with a long pole and he ends up going into the drink! I freakin' love Peter Sellers and think he was a comedic genius! |

I just realized that I haven't watched those in many years. Maybe even a couple decades.
This makes me sad. |

I think "Being There" is my favorite Sellers movie.
i also remember hearing some track from a guess a comedy album about an Indian theater troupe with their performance of "My Fair Lady". Shit cracked me up. Wouldn't It Be Loverly |

The Pink Panther Strikes Again was his best movie. I recently broke down and bought the Pink Panther collection disc set, just to get The Pink Panther Strikes Again on Blu ray disc. So many great scenes in that movie right from the beginning when Chief Inspector Clouseau goes to the sanitarium to visit the crazy former Chief Inspector on the day he's due for review for release .............. "Jacques, start the car!!!!"

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes It would have been four parts but Sellers had trouble mastering a Texas accent for Major Kong. He really didn't want to do Kong so he used an injury as an excuse, and thus Slim Pickens ended up so masterfully portraying the role of Major Kong. . . . The blind man was the lookout.
That is ridiculous how can a blind man be a lookout? How can an idiot be a policeman? Herbert Lom who played Chief Inspector Drefuss was also masterful comedic actor. The total deadpan humor and his eye twitch were priceless. |

Pink Panther is one series, that when I want my ribs to hurt the next day, I'll watch.
The Pink Panther Strikes Again is my favorite... The scene when Clouseau visits Chief Inspector Dreyfus on the day he's getting released from the mental institution, has me gasping for air. That and the scene where Clouseau poses as a Dentist to help former Chief Inspector Dreyfus's painful infected tooth. And he pulls the wrong one. It kills me. |

View Quote That is classic and a great opening scene to the movie; Clouseau: [after Dreyfus is knocked into the river for a second and third time and Clouseau thinks he is trying to hide that he's upset] I'm afraid today is just not your day, my friend. Dreyfus: [quickly stands up] Oh, but it is! It is, my "friend" after three, long terrible years it is AT LAST my day! I will not permit, "repeat," not permit anything..."repeat" anything to spoil it. Now, I will walk you to the gate, to the car which should rightfully be mine. And then I will kiss you goodbye! [kisses Clouseau's cheeks] Dreyfus: And then I will have my meeting with the sanity commission, and they will set me free! And then... [gets hit in the head with an arrow and turns to Clouseau] Dreyfus: I will kill you! [starts choking him] Clouseau: [running away] Francois! Start the car! Dreyfus: [chasing close behind] KILL YOU! KILL YOU! |
