you guys seem to be forgetting about MASK toys.  They were pretty cool.

http://blog.motorcycle.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/maskcondor2c.jpg

Of all those toys I used to play with, I would have to say I got the most entertainment out of legos.

wow....I remember that specific toy!  Too funny!

That reminds me of the realistic looking cap guns made under the name Edison by an italian toy company (Giacotolli).   They took the plastic strip caps and you loaded them into the removable magazine.  They even had metal barrels that looked real.  Then when fired, they clipped the fired cap off and ejected it.  They were BAD-ASS.  However, the caps were so corrosive they only worked for a week or so.  I had a Browning Hi-Power and M-16.  Said made in Italy on them too.

i bought that AT-AT when it came out from Kay-Bee toys. It cost me $63 dollars. My parents thought I was crazy. It took a long time to save allowance plus christmas and birthday money to get it.

I'll never forget garbage pail kids, I think it affected my developing child mind. At the time they were the most depraved and sadistic things I had ever seen. That and "Watership down" those are two things that look like they are for kids on the surface, but really aren't.

Star Wars

Car Wars roll playing game with the expansion packs and Uncle Eds vehicle upgrade catalogs

Risk the board game. Me and my brother would play that damn game along with Car Wars the entire time we had off from school during Christmas break

I also like micro machines, GI Joes, Star Wars action figures.

My brother had an Intelivision that was pretty badass at the time.

This was my #1 favorite.

My favorite target was a can of aerosol cleaner in a small pile of burning leaves.  If you could hit the very edge of the can it would take off in the air spinning burning everything in its path.

Ah! This thread is in my interest.. My midlife crisis hasn't been about motorcycles or expensive cars.. It has been about 80's and early 90's home computers..
I've collected all my childhood favourites, and found some I didn't even know of..

My collection now includes..
Atari Lynx handhelds (and every game ever released - all boxed)
Atari 2600
Atari 800XL
Atari 520STfm
Commodore 64 / C64C
Commodore VIC20
Commodore C16
Commodore C116
Commodore Plus/4
Commodore C128
Amiga 500
Amiga 1200
Sinclair ZX Spectrum
Sinclair ZX Spectrum +2
Nintendo NES
Gameboy
And several others, including a collection of Grandstand desktop games..

I love setting them up, and spend evenings playing with these old masterpieces..

Here's one nice evening playing Atari 2600
