Like when we gave them the House, Senate, and White House and they still didn't do anything?

The problem with that is that it wasn't "their guy" in the Whitehouse

Fox is reporting non defense spending is frozen in 2024 and had a 1% increase in 2025. Remember that the federal fiscal year for 2024 starts on October first.

Defense spending including veteran’s benefits are not frozen.

Additional work requirements for government benefits excluding Medicaid.

Claws back almost $2B of the additional IRS funding.

Based on the general statements, it looks like the Republicans got a good deal. For all of you saying the Republicans folded because there were no cuts, get real. It doesn’t work that way. Republicans have a very tenuous hold on controlling the House and the Dems control everything else. If you want bigger changes, help the republicans gain solid control of Congress and the White House.

Thanks. People will ignore this, but if true it is far better than I expected.

Zero surprise, as there was zero chance the government could stop wasting money, much less stick to a budget.

Yep. Fpni.

We are 100 percent better off making Janet pay bills only with money she gets. Pay debt service, ssa, and defense. Lay off rest of gov and stop paying ngos to let illegals into the country

Both parties love to spend money they do not have. Is anyone really surprised?

I'll say this as many times as it needs to be pointed out because it is so obvious, yet so many cannot see it: the republicRATS are not your buddies. The uni-party doesn't give two shits about you. The entire charade is nothing but a theater, used to placate those who cannot see the first point in my soliloquy.

It looks like the Republicans did OK. They got a 1% limit on non defense increases and new work requirements. The devil will be in the details but it does look like the Republicans got the best of the deal while giving the Democrats enough to claim victory.

I guess you would be happier with the Democrats plan to spend unlimited amounts.

Is there really any difference?

Well it sounds like our hard working Congressmen have saved our bacon again.  Solving these complex problems is why we send them to DC.

Omg. I’m totally shocked.

You mean all these threads and click bait articles over the last month have been for not?

Almost like we should have seen it coming.

Have they gathered for their group picture celebrity picture decrying that they saved America?

The spending cuts will probably be future cuts from estimated expenditures out to 10 years from now,

they like to do that, doing nothing, but saying they are doing something, then those future cuts never happen.

It is all so tiresome.

mark my words.
