Met her when I was around 6yrs old at a function in Dubai, of all places. Notable because I had this little tin cartoon lunchbox that I made my dad carry, while he was among all these dignitaries.
It's funny, not remotely big on Monarchy but I suppose it's part of who I am as a Brit. |

Forgive me but I don’t understand how the UK has changed and went hard socialist and it’s not her fault because she is the leader there?

I'll bet Harry Selby was waiting for her at the Pearly Gates with his .416 magazine rifle, ready for them to go on another safari together.

Quoted: I'm actually sadder about this than I thought I would be. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/163640/Queen_Elizabeth_II_jpg-2518895.JPG As the Queen for 70 years, she was a driving force behind the special relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States. In one notable example, on September 12, 2001, the Queen requested that the Star Spangled Banner be played during the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace in a show of solidarity with the U.S. after terrorist attacks killed nearly 3,000 innocent people on American soil. View Quote I remember that well and was touched by it. |

I met her once for like 3 minutes. Windsor. She had a wicked sense of humor. Asked if we liked her little house and winked at us.

She was a class act and the world is diminished by her passing.
Nobody does state funerals like the Brits, and this one will be epic. I will probably see it on television and once again ponder what I always do when I see the pomp and circumstance: Where do the Brits get all those marvelous hats? |

As a head of state who truly set the example of Honor, Duty and who also never failed to exhibit the dignified class of a bygone era for her subjects, my sincere condolences to our British cousins.
RIP Queen Elizabeth. |
|
RIP ol gal. She was a true shining example of class.
(The folks here who came in this thread to spew BS hatred is a sad example of how our educated society has hit bottom, you should be embarrassed but of course you are not. The Queen served her country valiantly, and she should be commended for her service. So much bitterness and the urge to be "edgy" or different in some negative way will lead you no where, your parents should be ashamed they raised such a fucked up person to end up being like that. Total trash.) |

Quoted: One of my kids is vacationing in Ireland, was in a bar earlier, the bartender said 'good riddance' and changed the TV to a soccer match. Then he said to her and her boyfriend 'You're not English are you? You won't find anyone sad here.' Some things run deep. View Quote A shame. None of it was her choice. Parliament was in charge before her, and still is. |
