The last few years have been underwhelming and I haven't seen anything that blew my skirt up enough to get me to spend money. This year is different....
I was already pretty sure I was going to buy a CS this year. I'm sold now that I'll be able to get extendable mags and different grip sizes for it.
The FLUX 365 will be purchased, immediately.
That Holosun IR laser/illuminator looks like a solid sub $1k option.
I like Henry, I stock 300bo, and I have a 308 can. So that may happen.

I run drills and haven't found that to be the case.

I prefer B&T because the ergos are better, and while technically direct blowback, the carrier is slowed by a hydraulic plunger, feels pretty close in recoil to an mp5. It's also a high quality milled gun and not a tac welded piece of sheet metal.

An MP5 is much faster on the clock than any blowback. Having to work the charging handle is more than made up for in the substantially reduced recoil.

Vanished years back. Never heard the back story.
He was given access to some special areas of some teams and took some pics and posted them online, which he shouldn't have. He was persona non grata after that. Dude reminded me of a holster sniffer.

It's not delayed, it just has a buffer to reduce the carrier speed near the end of the stroke for less felt recoil, as I understand it.

I'm gonna be so broke this year, the agenda so far

finish my jakl 300
acquire new Holosun IR
get can out of jail for said jakl
grab the cz bren 2 x39
get dedicated can for said Bren 2
hope CZ brings the BR or PPS to market
Hope we get a jakl 308 or 6.5c
acquire x57 (if they come out)
Keep building my canik and HK collection
Keep emailing S&W to buy the Keltec RDB design and rugedize it, but since they already have the Hellion, maybe Ruger or DD can.

I dunno, I think this years shot is already better than the past 4-5 years

I guarantee you it doesn't. The buffer on your aluminum  shelf gun is a bandaid. You paid all that money for a half assed modernized tec 9 that still isn't as pleasant to shoot as a gun from the 60's.

Like many others have said in this thread, the coverage has become awful. Rushed 10 minute videos about the same 5 products with 9 minutes of forced banter and bullshitting, and 1 minute of interspersed info.
Is there anyone doing the old "Here's a long series of photos of new products with a one sentence description of each" thing anymore? Even something thats slightly similar?
The best thing about it was that the smaller, niche, and more interesting stuff was covered during the show, and you didn't have to wait until a week later to hear about it.
I get that these people won't get the clicks, likes, subscribers, and potential ad revenue from that format, but it really is so much easier to digest.

I meant all shot show coverage I’ve personally seen over the past few years, not yesterday’s range day specifically.
Who will be uploading a long series of photos including “under the radar” type products with short descriptions instead of “Hey I’m here at the ___ Booth with Hank…”  videos this year?
Not trying to be a dick, lots of us would genuinely like to know who’s still doing the old school photo coverage thing.

A Totally Recoilless Rifle? -- SHOT Show 2024

Olympus Arms revitalizes a classic firearms mechanism with The Vulcan Rifle, featuring a unique long-action reciprocating barrel similar to the Browning Automatic 5 shotgun.

Key Features:

Reciprocating Barrel & Bolt Carrier Group for minimal recoil
Recoil-driven system, without gas operation
Forward-mounted, non-reciprocating charging handle
AR-10 compatibility in 7.62x51mm NATO / .308 WIN
Easy tool-less barrel swap for caliber changes
Upcoming .277 FURY chambering

Olympus Arms has designed The Vulcan Rifle for comfortable shooting with significantly reduced felt recoil. The rifle is compatible with standard AR-10 components like triggers and stocks.

Pre-order Special: $3,995 until the end of this week, rising to $6,795 after that. First batch ships April 1st.

If your front sight is shifting that much you won't be hitting shit anyway. I've never heard of someone's front sight shifting massively outside of being dropped, or some nearly century-old beater gun in shit shape.

Watching people shoot in a video is something to be fast forwarded through. It’s a gun that recoils and is expected to be dependable-got it.

Info about design, purpose, cost is what we need. Video is a poor medium for that sort of information dissemination.

I’m a Gen Xer and can live in both video and written worlds, but video sucks for this type of marketing.

MP5 pattern hasn’t changed in 50+ years.

CZ? Not so much.

When you don’t control the production or supply, stick with a pattern that is a) widely available, and b) isn’t going to change.

If they abandoned it, it's for good reason. There are a good number of MP5 clones out there now, and it's damn near impossible to compete with the nosediving Turkish Lira. If PSA released their MP5 a few years ago, they'd probably have a significant segment of the market, but as it stands they'd be competing for a small slice of the pie.

Yeah, and the lack of a defensive round in their new ammunition line-up tells you exactly how much they really care about the safety of all those single mom nurses working the night shift who are going to buy a Staccato for self defense. They know who really buys their guns: guys who train and compete.
