After two years of legal wrangling and a huge pile of money my friend actually was able to purchase and bring to the US Rossi's and Haydens factory moto GP bikes. Unfortunately part of the agreement states that they can never actually be ridden, by anyone, ever but you should just hear what they sound like sitting still! The startup procedure alone is more complicated than that of a small aircraft.

Good lord.  How much did that set him back???

How would anyone know if he took a ride on them?  With that type of cash he could rent a track for the day to ride them...Hayden's first, just in case he crashes!!!

Came here to post the desmosedici, glad I'm not the only one

on the other end of the spectrum

Say what you will about the jackass behind it, but I always thought WCC bikes looked like chopper should.

So many more I could post...everyone should have at least 1 bike!

So, what exactly is that nondescript, pedestrian-looking bike in the OP? It certainly isn't as interesting as this design:

The original Kawasaki Ninja. The 900 Ninja. Also know as the ZX900-A1.
In the USA it was never called the GpZ900, Kawasaki USA wanted to distance it from the air cooled two valve GpZ bikes it was making at the time so it became the 900 Ninja.

It was a toss-up between the GpZ750 Turbo and the 900 Ninja when talking quarter mile and top end.
It depended on the rider for the most part.
PeeWee Gleason could get the most out of either bike and got them into the high 10's in the standing quarter mile.

OP's bike is a yawn.

Sexy is a CBX, a Norton Commando, an H-D knucklehead or K-model, a flathead Indian Chief, a Guzzi LeMans Mk1, a Brough-Superior, a Vincent, Mike Hailwood's Honda six, a Zundapp K800, a Velocette, a Ducati 750SS -- heck, I could go for several pages.

I've always had a passion for Art Deco, though, and this bike especially appeals to me.

About the ARIEL Square Four

I remember my Dad talking about these.
He bought a Honda 750 Four with the Vetter fairing, and his buddy had a Norton 750 Commando.
Neat old bikes.

I miss my 900 Ninja some times.  It was great fun, and a real head turner in '86.  I'm honestly surprised  I didn't kill myself on that bike.  A drunk rear ended me as I was stopped in a parking spot, killed her dead right there
