I don't like orange juice so I guess I'm way ahead of the curve.

The EPA is testing tap water for PFAS this year.
The results will be interesting. They are testing parts per trillion. |

I grew up in Florida with orange trees in my back yard, huge orange groves only minutes away, and an OJ processing plant just down the road.
I have come to accept that good orange juice is a seasonal beverage, only achieved by buying or picking fresh oranges and squeezing them yourself. That shit that comes in cartons or plastic jugs tastes nasty. |

I drink the Simply Limeade mixed with iced tea all the time here at home. I wonder if it's got the same shit in it.

That’s unpossible. Donald Sutherland’s kindly voice would not mislead me!!

According to this article, it's just "Simply Tropical": While Simply produces multiple juices, including orange, fruit punch, apple, and cranberry, this particular lawsuit alleges that only Simply Tropical contains PFAS. |

Pasteurized OJ tastes like the oranges that fell off the tree two days ago and the fire ants have been munching on.

Quoted: The PFAS is in the coating of the paperboard carton. It is also in the coating of almost every non-stick pan that you have been using your entire life. It has taken the FDA 30 years to figure out that it is unsafe, yet we are to believe that they determined that mRNA vaccines are safe after only a few months? View Quote I’ve been saying for years that non stick coatings and what not, will be the lead of our generations. Although probably worse |

I've been buying it in the clear plastic jug for years.
The article points out the problem being with the cardboard container. I'm left unsure that I'm GTG. |

Key words in that are "Federally Advisable" meaning it has no statutory or regulatory "teeth" as it were. Lawyers are going to get rich from the litigation.

Quoted: You could say that about anything that you drink that contains sugars. If you overdo your sugar intake then it might be terrible for you, but otherwise it's just fine. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Isn't orange juice already known to be terrible for you? I mean it is basically a glass of sugar water If you overdo your sugar intake then it might be terrible for you, but otherwise it's just fine. The issue with packaged OJ is that the sugar is concentrated far more than in the natural fruit. That, plus the added sugars & preservatives makes packaged OJ about as bad as soda. There's also supposed to be a digestive reaction when you consume the pulp along with the juice that mitigates the glycemic affect, but I don't recall the specifics of that. |

There was a big dust up in the news about orange juice 15 years ago.
Ethyl butyrate: Attached File Supposedly, like the only commercially available orange juice that does not have ethyl butyrate in it is Trader Joe’s “fresh squeezed”. Since ethyl butyrate comes from oranges originally, there is a loophole where OJ manufacturers don’t have to list it as an ingredient. |
|
The other products might be “fine” in the same packing. Orange juice is acidic. Citric acid.
Unfortunately pfoas are virtually ubiquitous at this point and there is no good solution for removal. It messes up your reproductive organs and hormones. I think it’s part of why we have so many man child emotionally retarded 87 gender confused people. Testosterone levels are drastically lower than in the past and the lower level limit for “normal” keeps being pushed down. RO for drinking water at your tap is probably the best start. Add a remineralization filter on the output if you dislike the taste. It’s shaping up to be a nightmare for the water treatment world. On both ends of the system. |
