Alum and other aluminum compounds are the safest and most effective ways to reduce sweating, which means less harsh deodorants work far longer a s they aren't swamped/overloaded with more continual microbe food seeping out of your skin.  This is why the white/dry deodorants are far more effective for up to 36 hours (apply at bedtime if you read directions).   The stick deodorants that aren't antiperspirants need a lot more product added and need to be re applied after 8 hours for some people and no more than 12 if you're sweating at all and having problems with odor.   If the antiperspirants itch or cause redness, use less of it.  Removing hair also reduces bacteria count but don't apply deodorant right after shaving armpits, wait the 12 hours for skin to heal so it doesn't get irritated.

The Aluminum is topical, unless you're drinking or ingesting it, or injecting it in your armpits, it never even gets to your bloodstream, it is just active at the pores and doesn't mess with your brain as some claim who also have fear of basically "any chemical" where they're surrounded by them but have no clue about them so they listen to their favorite celebrity telling hem which things to hate.

If you have bad body odor and nothing worked, try anti-dandruff shampoo for a week.  Use it as a body wash. Let it sit the 2 minutes or whatever time is suggested for it to work.  Some are allergic to it so if y turn red from it, stop trying.  It's the most effective way to wipe out unwanted bacteria and potential skin fungus colonies on your body.  They'll come back but hopefully the less offensive will get the majority and hold it.  Fixes dandruff, athlete's foot and is the cheapest anti-bacterial soap to get as long as you aren't using it on open wounds (where you use Hibiclens at a higher concentration and let it soak for 15 minutes)
