They have my Wife in what I would call a popemobile at work.
She's got a plexiglass box all the way around her and it's completely sealed off. |

February 28, 1993, and that it would be "nearly impossible" to match them to Horiuchi's rifle, as it had probably been fitted with a new barrel since that time
How convenient. |

In April, 1945 Sturm-Mörser-Kompanie 1001 was in Odenthal near Bergisch-Gladbach. on the 9th April the company received the order to send a sturmmörser to support the German troops in Drolshagen area. After a night march, the Tiger of Lieutenant Doll reached Hützemert in the early morning hours of 10 April and took position on the Herrnscheid hill wood. Some hours later the company commander sent a messenger with the order to shot on church tower of Drolshagen. A shot with the explosive power of the 38cm shell on the church tower would have had disastrous consequences. The bombardment of Drolshagen was rejected unanimously. The crew decided to drive towards Americans and attack them in open ground. To avoid being replaced by Hauptmann Kodar the sturmtiger begun to move towards the American troops. They went through Hützemert, but only a few meters before reaching the road Drolshagen- Wegeringhausen, the left track of the tank broke with a loud bang. The whole weight of the tank was on the torn chain due of the inclination of the street. The crew could not repair the track. To blow up the sturmtiger with the ammo inside would have been a disaster, so the crew left the tank just when the Americans arrived to Hützemert. There was a firefight killing Richtschütze Herrler and Ladeschütze Langer. Funker Gäbler and the commander Doll were wounded. The sturmmörser stood some weeks in Hützemert and them was recovered with the loaded rockets by the US Army. - From a report by KH Doll in the book "Kriegsende in Drolshagener Land" |
