Favreau's live action series is "The Mandalorian" "After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic...." View Quote |

I've been watching the series with my 10 year old. We're in season 3.
I am embarrassed to say I am learning a lot of "history" with the series. I was rather oblivious to the clone/separatist stuff beyond the big screen offering. The bite-size episodes make it easy to throw on when we have our occasional idle time. |

Possibly. But it really feels like they don’t have much of a pulse on what the fandom actually wants (TCW notwithstanding). Rather, it seems like they are more interested in developing their new characters than the ones we actually care about. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

The reviews I’ve read or listened to haven’t been great. Seems like the consensus is that the characters are forgettable, the writing leaves something to be desired, and the tone is childish. Plus I really couldn’t care less about the Sequel Trilogy era.

Quoted: I'll prolly watch it. Like I've said many of times, they have thousands of years to work with. Yet they keep using the same 70 year time period. I just wish they would go back in time a few hundred years or jump a few hundred years in time. View Quote |

Most of the characters are just plain boring. Now if you give me a Cassian series that shows the rougher side of the rebellion, that I would watch the hell out of. I didn't mind Jyn at all, but I would much rather see the series of events in his life that made Cassian into the hardened and cynical commando he was. We got to see his hope restored before the end, but I would be interested to see how he lost it. |

Quoted: Yeah, I would love to see some Old Republic stuff instead of the same old. They are trying so hard to push these new characters but they just aren’t compelling or interesting. I think that’s why they’re stuck in the ST era. View Quote |

Yeah, there were some kinda graphic scenes and mature themes in the show, such that I wouldn’t want my younger kids to watch it. There are a couple of YouTube videos out there with a compilation of all the brutal scenes in the show. It’s kind of eye-opening. Quoted: Lots of heads rolling there in the last couple season. View Quote Shoot the explosion in the jedi temple was pretty bad. Watched a couple episodes over the weekend and still think, wow the jedi are some dumb f'rs and got what they had coming. But when Snips decided to walk away, you're like man, look what all her an Anakin went through and what he later became...wow... You've got to watch TCW if you really want to understand why he turned to the Dark Side. The movies didn't do a good job really. At least not imo. |

Quoted: When it first came out I tried to watch an episode but just couldn't get into the animation. Fast forward to just a few months ago. I gave it a go on netflix, saying just try to get through a season. I wound up getting hooked. But I remember thinking wow they showed this on tv, lots of killing and even open mouth kissing between Anakin and Padme. View Quote |

Quoted: They only provided a skeletal framework for the plot, TCW filled it in and gave it meaning. That includes Anakin’s fall and the reasons for it. He always had some dark tendencies, but I think Ahsoka’s departure not only made him more vulnerable to it, but also began the distrust of the Jedi which eventually led to his betrayal of the Order. None of that context is apparent from the films alone. View Quote From the movies I was like he went to the dark side just over Padme?!? After looking at TCW it was much more than that, Ahsoka leaving had a major part in him questioning the jedi and his allegiance and the council kinda pissed me off at the end. We see now this was your great test, blah blah blah....none of you mf'rs believed in my except Anakin. I'm out of here... I have to believe Ahsoka also knew about Anakin and Padme relationship. Makes you wonder what would have happened if he had walked away from the order. |

Resistance is not really developing characters or building relationships between them. With all the pre show stuff on the Aces and Team Fireball I expected we would see more interaction and stories involving more than just Kaz.

the episode where Anikian destroys the slave selling planet's royalty should have been a included in the prequels.
the fact that Anakin was born a slave is heavily downplayed in the prequals and this 20 min episode completely explains all of Anakins hate, fear, love & all the emotions that make him a sith. |
