In on dis!

My go-to is usually Bell's Oberon but after that, love me some good stouts! The higher ABV, the better!

Some recents I've had...

I've got the whole rest of the 2021 Baptist release lineup as well.

If you're having trouble reading the label it's called Even More Nobility from Evil Twin and Short Throw Brewing. Weighs in at 15% ABV!

Looks like they just revamped their branding and logos, but this was my first (and only, I think) porter.  I'm honestly a beer neophyte, but I like the darker brews, Scottish ales, etc.  Not a hops fan.

Anyway, had this in a steakhouse in Zion, UT and liked it enough that I got it again when we went back.

There has been a marvelous renaissance in porters and stouts in the U.S. and even in Mexico these oast 5-10 years, and it's building momentum.

I have faith that we may get to a time when "craft" beer or "dark" beer isn't synonymous in many mind with IPA or other hoppy ales, and where there might actually be more than one stout option on a menu. I can dream.

Ton of good dark beers I’ve had and would like to try.  I like a good Beamish or Murphy’s and on tap if available.  One thing I didn’t see mentions was Wise acres coffee milk stout…. YOU GOTTA GET UP YO GET DOWN.  It is very good, especially on tap.

We have Martin City Brewery here and they have donut stout and it us pretty good.

I was introduced to Porter’s via Black Butte Porter and have been a fan ever since.

Porters and stouts make great milk shakes.

Best stout I ever had was in Barcelona.  Don’t remember the name but I have a picture somewhere.  It’s made in Spain.

Kinda on a peanut butter Porter kick right now.

Quaff on peanut butter busted knuckle is my go to right now.

Definitely not hoppy, and I don't think I'd call it creamy either.  Just a good general stout with just the right amount of coffee overtones.!  Honestly, it's been a while since I've had one; I remember really liking it so I bought a case when I drove up to visit family at Christmas.  I haven't tapped into any yet though.

I like all beer styles except sours and smoked but stout and porters are my favorite.

I like the high abv imperials and barrel aged beers. I just picked up a 4 pack of this the other day, looking forward to trying it. I’ve never had utopias and I don’t recall loving the plain ole world wide stout, but the 17-18 abv is intriguing

most imperials (and belgians) are better after a year,  or more,

@airfoil

A year ago during my Christmas vacation (visiting my father in OH) some random guy in a liqueur shop recommended that porter, so I bought a bottle.  I went back the next day and cleaned them out.  I haven't been able to find it here in GA, and had honestly forgotten about it.  Thanks for the reminder!

During that same vacation I was helping him clean some things out and found a mixed pack of that same lambic my mother had stashed in the kitchen pantry.  She passed in early 2020, and my dad doesn't drink that sort of thing, so I brought it home even though it's not my kind of thing either.  Now I know what to do with it!  I hope it's still good.  Bittersweet memory, but your post just made my day
