I’m liking S4. Finished episode 4 last night. They’re definitely going more mature, in language and story telling. Kinda cool with all the horror movie references. I was mentioning it to my wife, and how there’s a bit of Nightmare On Elm Street smell to it, and 10 minutes later … low and behold …..
Not liking the lesbian shit (but it’s ShitFlix, it’s to be expected) The Hop / gulag storyline is retarded. His character is being wasted in this season. And $$$ says Will sucks a dick by the end of the season. |

My wife and I binge watched it in 2 nights.
As a child of the 80s, I love the cold war vibes. |

11 cry’s in EVERY scene. It’s kind of annoying that this actress has such limited talents. She was better when she was a child. It has jumped the shark for sure. Plus the wokeness of it detracts bigly.

It’s still a well done show.
But with basically three then four concurrent threads, it’s missing a lot of the magic in a bottle it had when they interacted together more. It does nail a lot of the characters and vibes of the 80s well. If you were a teen in small town America from the late 70s to early 90s- Did you not not that- Shitshow divorced mom barely keeping it together, Train wreck blue collar hard drinking, hard smoking VN vet Nerdy D and D kids Pretty boy rich kid / jocks Prim uppity going to be a professional chick Weird ugly chick you suspected was a lesbo Stoner dude that had not graduated yet One dude that never had a girlfriend you thought 50/50 was going to end up gay- but instead of silence like the show they got ragged on all the time for it Couple of other stoner dudes Regular dude with hot wife Even poorer kids with shitstorm home lives |

Finished EP4 last night and it's really good...so far. Was happily surprised to see them giving Max a more defined storyline than seasons 2-3. I always thought she was a fringe character. And unlike the other kids, she looks like she has not aged at all since end of last season.

I'd be more interested in a prequel as to other projects the Doctor PaPa has been into. Matthew Modine is a good actor with this character.
I am not so sure if he has hubris or he is more experienced and calculated than others around him with these kids. He must have had some successes with the projects and results to have been funded for years and he must be able to ahve convinced the investors he can "analyze" how these powers work. I would be interested on some historical projects, even shorts on that. |

Oh boy. Lets break this down.
Quoted: Why are you arguing with me as though I said nobody used to be gay? That's a red herring fallacy. You obviously missed that. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Why are you arguing with me as though I said nobody used to be gay? That's a red herring fallacy. You obviously missed that. 1) Im not arguing with as though you said nobody used to be gay. Its not a red herring. It was a introductory statement to introduce my argument, while acknowledging part 2: 2) I clearly said "Agenda or not", offering a position that there is indeed potentially an agenda, which you propose exists. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. You're also contradicting yourself. You say having gay people on tv is new but then admit they've been in movies from a hundred years ago. No I am not, and you are taking some creative leaps here to claim that I am. I said "Right now is a kind of a rocky period because they are starting to be included more than ever" "Included more than ever" stands out pretty blatant here, and I was referring to exactly what you are proffering: "making it the focus of everything". Further, nothing there suggests I claimed it was completely new. Strawman I don't think its anecdotal to believe that yes, LGB characters are much more prevalent now in the past decade or two than before. Thats why I then say "even though it’s not really anything completely new, movies from as far back as the 1920’s had gay scenes) I said that becuase its a fact - there have been scenes in movies dating back over 100 years than include same-sex scenes. That doesn't mean they are anywhere nearly as commonplace as they are now, but that its not something brand new. I personally think gays are very over representated and do not like how everything has to revolve around sexuality. I. Do. Not. Care. About. Your. Sexuality. Stop making it the focus of everything. Well I don't care for love triangles. Hey we got something in common! Sexuality stuff does ruin some things. It's all for the power of victim status. Society has changed enough in the past 50 years that being gay is hardly a victim anymore. And the only reason "victims" exist is because they were victimized to begin with. LGB characters are the new norm and are here to stay. They represent reality. Anywhere from 2-5% of Americans identify as gay or bi. Well, when there's over 20 main characters in the show, there is bound to be 1 or 2 LGB characters if we are really representing reality. Congratulations, you got me talking about gays instead of the topic at hand: rewriting old shows and movies to be woke. See the power of making things about sexuality? You distracted and muddied the entire topic. I'm not even going to take this seriously lol. |
