I'm a LSU alumn, and my son graduated from Texas A&M. To say I'm a SEC guy is an understatement. I actually don't hate any of the SEC teams except Alabama (but who doesn't ). My biggest hate is reserved for Ohio State and USC (when they're good). When you think about it, it's really weird how you hate one team and like another. It's natural to be nuts over where you went to school, but there are other sports teams with which you have no connection and you love them and hate their rivals. I like the Chicago Cubs and hate the Cardinals. No idea why - nor do I know why I have such disdain for Ohio State. The other team I really don't like is Texas because I live in Austin, it's a liberal shithole, and their fans think they deserve to win the national championship every year. View Quote |

UGA may beat UF in the WLOCP simply because it's a rivalry game and anything can happen, but I don't see them beat either LSU, Bama, or even AU this year. They haven't proven they can reliably put away SEC bottom dwellers this year. Regardless of the fact that they went 2-1 against USC, UT, and UK, it took them until the 3rd quarter to pull away from both of the teams they did beat. LSU and Bama have way too much offensive firepower to let UGA hang around for half the game and either pick up the pace or wait for the opposing defense to tire out. Damn... NCAA to allow athletes to cash in on their fame
ATLANTA (AP) — The Latest on the NCAA task force’s report on the feasibility of allowing athletes to profit from their names and images (all times local):
1:30 p.m. The NCAA Board of Governors has taken the first step toward allowing athletes to cash in on their fame. The board voted unanimously on Tuesday to clear the way for the amateur athletes to “benefit from the use of their name, image and likeness.” The vote came during a meeting at Emory University in Atlanta. In a news release, board chair Michael V. Drake said the board realized that it “must embrace change to provide the best possible experience for college athletes.” View Quote |
