I dunno I’ve been eyeing the Shadow Systems MR920.
All my Glocks are stock with night sights only, and one with red dot. Should I go full guccitard or stay stock? |
|
Are you doing it for the sick ‘gram EDC dump pics?
If not, nothing wrong with a stock glock. |
|
I've always gone with the keep it simple approach and put the extra 'Gucci' money in to training with both my AR's and my Glocks.
|
|
I carry my Shadow Systems with an RMR. It has never had a failure and it shoots better than my 19. They will also replace a pistol for free that was taken after a justified self defense shooting. Not worried about the cash if it was really needed, but that is still cool.

The best way to make a Glock unreliable is to "upgrade" them.
Gucci Glocks are range toys. |

You only live once. Worst case you sell Gucci Glock for a small loss and move on. Best case you have a sick gun you love to shoot and carry. |
|
Well the only way I'd own a glock would be to replace 90% of it from the get go. So your idea is not totally crazy.

Quoted: Regular Glock is best Glock. View Quote This. Maybe a 5 cent trigger job, but the gen 5 triggers are decent. With that said. After being a Glock fan boy for about 10 years. I got a CZ to compete with. I consistently get second place (apparently the first place bunghole is a USPSA grand master) with my SP-01. I get second or third with my CZ P-09. With my glock 19X, I usually will be in the top 5, but I am significantly less accurate. I can shoot it fast but I can't hit dick with the stock sights. It will get an RMR this summer to see if it will even be in the rotation anymore. Lesson: If you started with a Glock and don't really know anything else, you are missing out. I think my next handgun will be a P320. I honestly don't know if I will ever buy another Glock, and I used to ride the Glock D like a hooker in love. I would still take it to Mars if we ever invade, but all my 19's just sit there unless my wife carries them in her rotation. ETA: I am kind of sad that I made this post. I will go masturbate in my tears in the corner. |

For my carry guns (Always Glocks) I prefer the least mods possible. Less to go wrong and malfunction on an already great running gun.
The only thing I've changed out many of them are Night Sights - TruGlo TFO in Green, my old eyes seem to prefer them. Also, on some of them I did Lone Wolf threaded barrel for suppressor usage and better support of reloads. JMHO, YMMV... |
|
All that modification will convince a jury you were out looking for a fight, and intended to kill!

Everyone needs to own at least one Glock 19.
Not everyone should EDC a Glock 19. They seem to melt into the hands of many, and for them the tweaks and twerks make sense. OTOH some people can't shoot them for shit and never will, and bells and whistles will make pretty noises but bullets don't have ears. They are what they are. Paint its toenails, put lipstick on it, it'll never be Prom queen. Cheap date on a long hot night, maybe . . . (waits for some smartass to post a pic of bullets with ears) PS: If "OP is retarded" is an option, "OP is retarded" is the correct option. |

They are not modded Glocks, they are full factory built guns. |

Do it. |

I carry a Shadow Systems MR920 daily. Only real reason I prefer to carry it over my standard Glock 19 is the reduced weight.

Even in a good shoot, the cops take your gucci glock for evidence, then everyone treats it like mary jane rottencrotch.

I put "gucci" glocks or other firearms in the same category as "gucci" wrenches, hammers, and screwdrivers.
It's a tool, nothing wrong with enjoying aesthetics, but I suspect a lot of the "improvements" most guys throw their cash on would be better served on practice ammo and training. I would bet 90% of people can't outshoot their stock gun, those who can I completely understand why they might mod but they are the extreme minority. It's your cash but I am always reminded of the "performance" mods kids make on honda accords but then still can't drive for shit. |

Quoted: Frame cut outs where you want it, match grade bbl, better trigger, good grip texturing, and it fits my hand a little better. I have shot it back to back with a g19 in competitions, and I shoot consistently better with the SS. View Quote Buy another (better) pistol.....Sig/H&K/CZ/S&W/etc |

Go ahead and use your expensive pistol to defend yourself. See how it looks after getting it back from the state crime lab and court system if you get it back at all.

I have a ZEV OZ9 with a Trijicon RMR mounted. It is zeroed for 20 yards and is very accurate. I would strongly recommend them even though they are more expensive.

I accidentally voted "OP is retarded", so since it was an accident, nothing is meant by it.
Sigs are gay though. |

View Quote That is not the point he is making. You sink a lot of money into a pistol on the premise you know if you use it a chance exist you are not getting it back vs using a duty Glock that is just as deadly and just as useful that cost 1/4 of the price. I am not going to carry a custom 1911 of mine or one of my fully tricked out CZ pistols because on the off chance I am involved in a shooting for my life it is not going to make me some super grand master John Wick killer but I could be out 2K+ if I am never able to get the pistol back or it gets lost in an evidence locker. |
