I do find it strange that Cruz has not demanded a retraction from the NE.  I would think if you were innocent of the charges you would be demanding a retraction. Instead Cruz is focusing on who he thinks leaked the story or as a way to attack Trump.

You use your posts sparingly and well.

He should call a press conference and answer questions.

Let's take another look at the superior intellect and critical thinking skills of so many classy Trump supporters in the Twitter world.

On September 24th, 2013 at 4:59 PM Amanda Carpenter tweets: Cruz about to do something very sweet.  I may cry.

Following the vague accusations of the National Enquirer, this 2.5 year old tweet is blasted with people accusing her of adultery, calling Ted Cruz a cuckold, stating that Cruz fathered her children, asking her if he "put it in her pooper", and of course there is no shortage of general name-calling (e.g., "Lyin' Ted").

While I'm sure that all seems very reasonable to the mouth-breathing basement dwellers, 4chan trolls, and general simpletons, another explanation could be that she was referring to Cruz's plan to read "Green Eggs and Ham" to his daughters during his Obamacare filibuster.  Since she tweeted this shortly before he did exactly that, I think the latter explanation is a little more plausible than her posting a thinly veiled confession of love to the father of her bastard children during his Obamacare filibuster on a public social media platform for the entire world to see.  But, what the fuck do I know.

I hope Cruz does bring a lawsuit, if he's innocent it will likely be borne out, and if not the Enquirer can produce whatever evidence it thinks it has.

There's a lot of bad optics and circumstance, but (so far) not much actual evidence.  I don't know who I believe at this point.

He did clearly deny it but he hasn't sued them, yet.  Hard to do over the weekend.

We'll see what happens next week.

He vehemently denied it, but I doubt we will see a lawsuit, and it is particularly scummy for people to insist that no lawsuit means he's guilty.  Cruz is a lawyer, he knows he is highly unlikely to win a lawsuit based on how the article was worded, and a lawsuit opens you up completely to discovery, which would be suicide in the midst of a campaign.  It would be giving the NE the keys to the kingdom.  Which they would of course give to Trump.

But yeah, name me one major libel lawsuit that was filed in the first 72 hours of the article published over a weekend.  That's not how it works.

Matt "Trump 2016" Drudge hasn't even published this on his webpage. He made a facebook post about it and deleted it. The fact that he's not even willing to give up whatever little credibility he has left for this story should tell you something.

If true, the FEC will rape Cruz and will be looking really hard at that donation to Carly.  He will be done in the race within a week between that and the sex scandal allegation.  They won't even have to prove the sex scandal.  It will be assumed true by many who have not formulated an opinion.

So if someone publicly accuses jrzy of a series of scandals and you deny it, we should presume guilt until you are proven innocent, right?

Until he sues you and wins the lawsuit. Until then, whatever allegations are made against him should be considered fact.

Brilliant

No evidence, nothing to support the allegations, but yea, the onus is on the accused to prove his or her innocence.

It was talked about on FNC this morning, and the consensus was "no".

Ties between the National Enquirer, Pecker, and the trump were brought up, however.

The story has no legs.

We also know what the definition of libel is and we know that the National Enquirer's legal team does as well. The fact that they printed the story with some very specific information and likenesses to identifiable people tells me that they're not afraid of a suit from Teddy boy. In fact, they're probably daring him to sue.

We also know what the definition of libel is and we know that the National Enquirer's legal team does as well. The fact that they printed the story with some very specific information and likenesses to identifiable people tells me that they're not afraid of a suit from Teddy boy. In fact, they're probably daring him to sue.

Can one of you guys who isn't absolutely rabid about this either way answer one question for me.  Is there any real proof of any of this?  Or is this all speculation?

We know that the $500,000 went from Cruz to Fiorina.

Lyin' Ted Cruz will avoid discovery at all costs.

They word their stories specifically to avoid libel, it's not that they actually have something. Since Roger Stone was apparently lazy enough to supply them with pictures of Trump's own spokeswoman, I'm betting they didn't think people would figure out who the women were so quickly.

Are you sure? Could have swore I heard yesterday that that is an ongoing investigation right now?

FEC looked into it last year when it happened.  Found no wrongdoing.  But hey, you only care about slinging mud.

Are you sure? Could have swore I heard yesterday that that is an ongoing investigation right now?

I thought so as well.  I don't know what the outcome is/was and neither does this guy who filed an FOA request to the FEC

Trump has bragged about fucking married women, whatever

He never presented himself as an Evangelical Christian of great moral character either. He has been upfront about his action for the last .... 40 years. He never declared himself as a candidate for the Moral Majority. He is upfront about who he is, do not like do not vote for him. His minions do not go on the radio and challenge the Christian faith of those who vote against him....sanity maybe good judgement possibly, but not a single Trump supporter has ever said you are not following your religious teaching by voting against Trump.

Cruz and his supporters......weeellllll that is a different story.

Because refraining from fucking married women is solely the domain of evangelicals??????

Alinsky tactics are only effective against someone espousing ANY standards whatsoever.
Not going to be a problem for Trump.
Yay for #winning!

Well, yea, there's that . . .

I haven't seen the creepy Canadian in the media lately, preaching America's redemption.

It's the denial that always gets them, not the act itself.  Nobody really gets morally outraged over cheating, well maybe over Edwards becuase his wife was dying.  Cheating and divorce has sadly become a social norm.
