Education inflation, jobs require higher levels of education for the same level of advancement, and education costs far outstripped wage growth.

More competition for jobs and housing than when older generations came up due to immigration.

Everything is SJWed to shit so you can lose your job for even a minor transgression.

It's easy to say a generation is doomed, but all of the liberal people I knew in my teens and early 20's have mostly ended up disliking leftist philosophies.

Oh woe is me, I have it so hard.
Less lamenting your lot in life, blaming others, engaging in the grass is greener on the other side thought, and more working and self development would also to a long way.
If you don't have marketable skills, you failed to make wise choices.

My standard of living isn't great, but it's good. I make a little over 100k because I was lucky and stubborn enough to blow off my elders' advice on hard work and credentials.

Many of my starting cohort fell for the middle class history degree meme (it was marketable at the time) and fucked up their lives. The economy didn't help.

I don't hold obeying conventional wisdom against them. Society is for ordinary families. It's not justified by a few individuals making it through the filters.

As a generation, millennials didn't have equal opportunity. There's little to nothing that can be done.

Denying the visceral life experience of large groups pisses people off. It's a cry for revenge porn, and since the economic data showing it is public, it's an easily avoided mistake.

Somehow rightist boomers keep repeating it. I guess most ID'd strongly enough with their work for compassion trickling down to an honest comparison of fruit-hanging height to jar egos.

nobody said every generation would have equal opportunity

some lived through 2 wars on our own soil, many did not, some lived through WW2 many did not, some lived through the economic expension after WW2

the equal part is that you are equally free, or at least supposed to be.

One generation has often said their kids having less opportunity is simultaneously false, deserved, and a sign of moral inferiority.

Much leftism could be headed off with a simple "lol, sucks to be you" in place of saying they need to suffer for listening to their parents.

The apathy and downright criminal betrayal of our countrymen is really the problem here.

I've been told on this forum by "conservatives" that the immigrants working for them are awesome and too bad that there are unemployed American youths.

We need to help our people get better, or we might aswell throw our hands up and embrace Stalinism.

The free market is responsible for the electronics boom that lowered costs of all the consumer products going down in relative terms,

ENHANCE

As well as the title

It seems they are using the CPI and average hourly wage to adjust for inflation and coming up with those numbers.

Merely pointing that out, no need to remind that the gubmint did it.

Hear this shit from olds all the time. All I ever want to say in response is "Shut the fuck up Boomer".

Fucking old people that never had to look down the barrel of unskilled jobs and low skill trades being filled by illegals, green carders, and other cheap ass immigrants which means no introductory work to do for all these fucking jobs that won't train people and want 5 years of experience plus other bullshit. Add on having college shoved down your throat by everyone so you're essentially forced into it which means people flounder because they have no experience with anything and thus no idea what path to take. And then tack on how expensive it is which for most means no do overs.

Our laughable joke of an education system doesn't help. K-12 is completely fucked. But good god the current/outgoing generation of parents (age ~40 to 55) is, as a whole, an absolute shit show and a sad shadow of what parenting is supposed to look like. Most of them did a fucking pathetic job as parents.

So much bullshit! If you bought the line that any kind of liberal arts degree payed for with debt was your path to success, that was your mistake. Kid feel lied to.

Their entire life, they have been told "college. Any degree". That might have worked 30 years ago.....

All the good blue color jobs that paid a decent wage if you were willing to bust your ass have been replaced by 3 illegals.

Many of the good "factory" jobs have gone to Mexico or China.

Wages have stagnated. The cost of living has gone up.

Kids aren't stupid. They realize that if .50 cents of coffee and milk cost $6, and the person working there is only making $9 an hour and makes 30 cups of coffee an hour, somewhere someone is getting rich.

No, we're just coming off of one. It was called the Great Recession. It was a depression in the technical sense of the word and nothing anyone can ever say will ever convince me otherwise.

Eight years of Obamunisim leaves one with the sensation that no matter what you do you can't quite get to the amount of $$$ needed to sustain a family of your own. It's just not fiscally sound to bother with continuing the species.

Add in regulation, family courts. Ever increasing racial tension and a suspiciously large body of evidence that sooner or later everyone in your family is going to betray you for what will likely prove to be utterly moronic and shortsighted reasons. Coupled with a general feeling of being utterly unwanted and despised as a generation that is somehow ruining everything even things that happened before we were born.

It's not much of an incentive to keep going.

The world is going to be emptying out soon. Not by war, or plague. Those will happen, but their effects will be comparetely minor. Thousands dead as opposed to millions. There are other factors in play. Things that even this sites membership either don't know about or wouldn't even believe if the evidence was presented to them.

The Muslims will probably be among the last to go. Those people really know how to bitterly cling to an unspeakably miserable existence.

All according to plan.

The future has no time for humanity. There will be gods, there will be machines. There might be slaves. But there will be nothing that any sane person could call human.

But no one is going to be sane.

Yep. A college degree is the new highschool diploma. It's not valuable if every random shmuck has one.

The whole "college for everyone" idea is a fucking scam. That shity concept needs to end. Growing up kids are told that you just go to college, get your degree in whatever, and employers will practically come crawling to you to offer you a job.

That of course turned out to be complete and utter bullshit. This naturally made people angry. Now old fucks are surprised their kids are pissed about being lied to and fed endless streams of bullshit about how this and that is the key to success when none of it was true.

The typical floor worker at my employer wakes up at 2:30, starts driving at 3-3:30 to arrive at work by 5. They then work until 1:30 to avoid all the traffic back to Manteca, Modesto, etc. If they are lucky they will be home by 4-5 so they can maybe see their wife and kids, eat, and go the sleep to wake up at 2:30 again. If they decide to stay an hour late, don't expect to get home until 7. These are welders, machinists, quality inspectors, etc.

For a frame of reference, my dad started as a locksmith at 28, my mom worked phone sales until she retired a few years ago. They own 2 properties worth $1.5 million in Santa Barbara and are not an exception to the rule. Honestly think you can still do that anywhere in California? You're dreaming.

The thing I find most frustrating in dealing with the Boomers I speak to is they’re in denial about what’s coming and in denial of the role they played in bringing it about.

Asleep at the wheel for decades while the left took over every institution that matters and now there’s no way to escape the conflagration. There’s not going to be some savior elected that fixes this mess, that responsibility will fall on their children and grand children, doing very bad things to very evil people.

Meanwhile most of them just hope that it holds together until they can die off.

My dad worked as a station manager for Standard Oil, then as a retail rep for Chevron, then cashed in his pension and owned a service station.  He made well over 100K per year in the 80s, his current net worth is $12K.

People make poor choices.

Just because you can't buy a Bungalo in Santa Barbara today, doesn't mean their aren't affordable houses in developing areas of the country right now, today.

My moms house was bought for $22,000 in 1968.  It just sold for $430,000.  But that took 51 years to accrue.

Do you know anything about in vitro fertilization? Even if you don't you are bound to have seen news reports. They always show the same thing, a needle being used to fertilize an egg under a microscope.

Now.

What would people do if the coating on that egg thickened a little bit? Just enough so that regular old sperm couldn't pass through that barrier? When this happens to random women here and there, well, it's an issue. But usually just to those families affected.

But what if it started happening en mass?

That is just one possibility among MANY.

Cause and effect

What would cause the egg's cellular membrane thicken?  Something must be the cause.

It's like saying "What if semen no longer wiggle or swim?" without giving a respectable reason.
