It is now 12:00 AM MST.

Made it!

It's been a good change, glad I was able to stick it through. Now the real challenge will be staying the course in the coming months.

I made it. I appreciate OP for this thread and what he was attempting to do. A lot of people don't recognize their habits or their ability to control themselves and break said habits.

Made it through NNN

A good exercise in self discipline, congrats to everyone else who held out.

Thanks OP

Made it through NFN. Not the worst thing I've ever done. Helped me realize I was just bored sometimes and to go finder something to do. Continuing on in Dec.

NNN successful.  The No Fap/no porn was an unique exercise in self-discipline for me. I found the urge to randomly look at porn, even out of boredom, to be a difficult task.  I suspect quitting drinking last year is what led to my success. I had zero self discipline when it came to all sorts of negative behavior after getting half a fifth in me.

Thanks for the challenge, OP.  I guess I could use some of my newly found will power to try and quit smoking. Be a hell of a Xmas gift for my wife.

What a journey. They say 30 days to change a habit. Making it this far makes me want to just keep it going. Setting a goal for Jan. 1. I'll still post in this thread for any other guys who are continuing on as well. Keep up the encouragement.

porn/masturbation/sex has definitely been my go to when I'm stressed out . my home life is fairly stressful at times -wife had disc replacement/vert fusion surgery in the middle of the month, my bi-polar step daughter randomly creates a lot of issues and decided she'd  rather go live with her piece of shit biological father out of blue and moved out right before Thanksgiving.

my wife has been supportive and at the same time surprised that I've been able to abstain from porn and masturbation. doing what she could in spite of her fucked up neck before and after surgery helped keep me in check as far as NFN.

Successfully made it through the NFN challenge.

I'd like to thank narphenal for setting it up and providing the awesome prizes. I wouldn't be lying if I said that there weren't a couple moments of weakness where the thought of winning something cool didn't help me power through.

Couple observations from the experience. I will say that my results are probably a little skewed. We just had another baby at the beginning of September and so our sleep cycles and life in general is just out of whack.

I had one night of dreams early on, I want to say week two. I figured that would be the start of several nights of the same, but it ended up being just that one night.

My drive was way up. Felt like I was 16 again the way I pestered the wife. Obviously her drive is way low at the moment, as she's getting less sleep than I am. Luckily she healed up fairly quick and came back online for a couple romps.

I also noticed that the habit seemed to be more something I did out of boredom than need. I think after this 30 days I can cut waaaay back. Its amazing how much more I noticed it when it wasn't in your face constantly.

It was a good challenge. I'll keep the habit going forward and try not to slip back into the same old cycles. I look forward to seeing if there are any other changes I notice when I get better sleep!

I was on a late night run last night when I realized the month was over. Literally no desire to watch porn right now, and I tried to get some from the wife but I smelled too bad after 8 miles. Now I wonder how long it will be before I whip it out and blast one into the toilet for old times sake.

Biggest thing I've noticed by not jacking the beanstalk is that I'm more crabby.  I noticed it but didn't really think about it until the wife's mom and sister told her that they've never seen me so grumpy.

You need a girlfriend and the women can probably tell you’re jacking off all the time so they don’t want to be near you.

Another thought: I think it's more than just a test of will power. I think it develops a sense of priorities and what they should really be. The sensation lasts a small amount of time compared to the sense of accomplishment from getting something done for real. Replace that fleeting moment with something you can be proud of for a longer time.

I knew I could make no fap, I didn't think no nut would happen though.

I have some maturing to do though, the last two weeks my wife was consistently not in the mood (the first two weeks were easy) .  This lead to a feeling of rejection on my part so I was walking around with a chip on my shoulder.  In the past, I would just take care of it myself.

Like I said, I have some maturing to do.

Made it through NFN.

Thank God I'm married. November actually flew by though. Seems like it anyway.

I did actually get much more accomplished, (I'm moving soon, and felt much improved mental clarity in getting all of the myriad things knocked off the checklist).

My relationship with my wife has grown deeper. I appreciate her much more, even if I never told her I was participating in this contest/experiment.

My experience for NNN wasn't that bad. I was coming off a month stretch in Sept. of not doing that because I had covid for the month so I was focused on other things. The first two weeks for NNN were a piece of cake, but getting to the last two weeks is when things were getting a bit hard (phrasing). Definitely going to try to make it through Dec. too.

Completed no fap.

Wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, although there were a couple times I was tempted.

Made me realize how much time I wasted looking at porn, and that I mostly did it out of boredom.

Definitely feel better about myself, and hope it's a trend I can continue in the future.

Thanks the challenge, and this opportunity.

I’ll admit I was tempted a few times. I told my wife about the challenge on day one and she was very supportive and helpful. I told her last night that I want to continue as it has made the time we spend together much more fulfilling. Throughout this month this thread has been the motivation that I needed. Going forward, I’d like to continue. I’m hoping this thread doesn’t die and at the end of every month I can check in and say I’m still on the wagon.

Thanks again OP for the reset.

My experience was ok, this gave me something to focus on on this lame Kuwait deployment.  I started having problems going to sleep about week 2 so I had to add benadryl then I slept weird one night and had back pain for the next week that kept my mind off of...things...at night.  The last week was getting kind of rough but I made it all the way through NNN/NFN.

Honestly, I had two big changes happen.

Battery life on my phone lasted longer because of no porn.

Midway through, I angered easier, but, doubt that NNN had much to do with it. I had extra stress at work, and just dealt with it by playing lots of COD.

Completed NFN. I noticed some changes. It made me realize how much I was looking at illicit material in my down time. As others stated, I think it became a habit derived from boredom. I really don't miss it and plan on continuing to try and keep that out of my life. About week 3 I noticed I felt I was sleeping better. I never used to wake up remembering dreams unless I was on some meds (namely NyQuil), however over the past month it's happened a number of times. Sometimes odd dreams, sometimes rather mundane.

An interesting sort of side effect for me, was while participating in something I felt was good for my well being, I decided to expand on that a bit and dramatically cut back on my alcohol consumption during the past month as well. I didnt quit completely, but probably consumed 20% of what I normally would. I've heard good habits beget good habits and I'm starting to think I agree. Again, something I hope to continue moving forward.

All in all, as I eluded to in a previous post, this started as something I kinda chuckled at but ultimately found more beneficial on a personal level than expected. I'm glad I put my preconceived notions aside and gave it a go.

A huge thanks to @narphenal for putting this on. The prizes are cool and all, but I think the personal benefits very well may outweigh material possessions on this one.

made it through. Started as NF, ended being a NN month.

My experience is that I didn't see much of a difference over the whole month. I definitely (normally) view and flog, but its not a part of my day like brushing my teeth. I don't create time/opportunity or choose it over anything else. I do understand that may not be the case for everyone else though.

A worthwhile character building thing either way.

I made it through NFN without any problems.  I did notice a couple of things.

I'm a competitive cyclist and the off season (for me at least) starts in November.  From the middle of the month on, I felt like I had more energy than usual to ride.  Maybe increased T levels?  I don't know.  And, sex with the GF was a LOT more satisfying.  Going days between orgasms made a huge difference.

Congrats guys!!

It was an awesome experience for me, at first it was a pain. AAR / Experiences:

It wasn't tough until the last week or so. But that week, boredom and being alone on road trip echoed loudly and made it tougher.
Therefore, lessons observed: Be social. Stay off computer when alone. Plug phone in somewhere else at night. Don't let temptation start, don't tease yourself with 'just a little bite" or you'll eat the whole freakin' cake, so to speak.

It's no different than alcohol, weight loss, etc. -- you just gotta do it, stop thinking about it, find something else to replace cravings/gateways. Every time I think about doing X, I do Y. Thinking about wanting a cookie? Do a pushup instead. Want to peek at girls online? Go clean the garage instead.

After a while you'll have abs of steel and a really, really clean garage.  :D

But I get it, being strong is the hard part. But you don't have to be a lifetime of strong: you just need to live one day, one hour at a time. Using the diet analogy again: Don't think "I can't make it through X months, so I'll give up now", think "I can make it through NOW, I won't give up tonight."

And then repeat every day.

Well, it really wasn't that hard with a busy month and I will still will wait till the weekend to party with the wife.

I’d say I have better concentration as you can imagine,  less irritable and anxiety has definitely decreased to some degree.

Initially it was interesting the first 10 days and staying busy helped (2 hr gym sessions, biking, hiking, billards were at my disposal), but after that and getting acclimated the thoughts went to the wayside once work picked up.

GJ everyone and remember it is a mental game and it will only make us all that much more resilient.

As long as there is a post before cutoff in thread, you will be included.

I'm double checking and cross referencing the lists, going through all DMs and posts, and making sure everyone is included who should be.

I had my behind the scenes lists, but decided not to post it up publicly because I figured there are some members who would rather not be on a "no jerking off" spreadsheet on a popular weapons forum.

Made it! I was definitely tempted a few times, but living with my fiancée helped a lot. Being single or living alone would have made it much more difficult I'm sure.

I don't think I ever considered myself addicted to porn or masturbation, but I had been a near-daily "user" since high school (or even earlier) until about 3 years ago (I am 25yrs old for reference). It had become a mindless chore engrained into my routines, and I had no thought in my mind as to how the daily exposure to porn and masturbation could be affecting my life until I began writing it down.

I began seriously paying attention to my jerkin' and porn watching habits in September of 2018. Soon after, I went on a 77 day streak of not fapping from 10/2018-1/2019 and another 57 day streak from 1/2019-3/2019. Throughout this time, I was porn-free for 314 days from 9/2018-8/2019. To this day, these remain my longest streaks.

Since 8/2019, I have had a lot of life changes, and I admittedly have fallen back into watching porn and masturbating on a somewhat regular basis (probably 1-3x/week up until mid October of this year). I am very thankful I found this thread. I feel it has reignited my motivation for staying porn and masturbation free. I am now 31 days into my current streak, which is the longest I've gone in since early 2019.

I plan to keep going. I plan to smash my old streaks, and keep this train rolling well into 2022 and beyond.

Thanks for reading.

No Fap and No Nut official down for the count, I am the champion of not blowing loads.

Anyway.

Over all I think this was a worthwhile challenge, as I don't think I'd gone no nut for this length of time since reaching puberty. It was actually much easier than I expected it to be going into it. I didn't really notice any clarity of mind, extra energy or anything like that. If anything I had a harder time getting to sleep and was much more tired during the day and prone to napping (I think this may be due to work related stress and not this contest though). I did find that I mostly had the urge present itself when I was bored and the thought would enter my mind, but it was easy enough to brush that aside and find other things to do with my time.

Thanks for putting this whole thing together OP. Perhaps we should make this a yearly thing?
