Asshole or not, he could have spent it on hookers and blow, bought a bunch of candy bars, bought a puppy and lined it's cage with the rest to soak up the piss and shit. There's a bunch of goofy stuff an asshole could do with 25 grand, giving it to charity seems like one of the least asshole-ish things.
25 grand is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. |

The Rock made $64.5 million in 2016. He recently made a huge deal about donating $25,000 to the flood victims in Texas. Let put this into perspective. $25,000 of $64.5 million is 0.04%. If an average person is making $60,000 per year, that is equivalent to them donating $23. A whole $23. Literally the size of a good eat out meal. I get donating but why brag about it? What a joke. http://www.tmz.com/2017/08/29/the-rock-kevin-hart-hurricane-harvey-relief-fund-donation/ View Quote So because he makes more he should give more? very liberal of you. people should be thankful he gave anything. |

OP is just another commie. Probably believes price gouging is real too.

There was a Little kid (9 or 10) who found his little toddler brother face down in the family swimming pool. The 10 year old pulled the toddler out and did cpr, saving his brothers life. When asked how he knew how to do that the 10 year old said he saw the rock do it in the movie "San Andreas"
The rock heard this and just made an offer to fly the kids and family up to the set of his movie so he could meet them and give them the royal treatment Real asshole |

How can anybody hate The Rock. He seems like a genuinely cool guy.
25k is 25k regardless of how much he makes. |

About 1.4%. So basically 37x what the Rock did. View Quote If the income tax was 10% across the board and the Rock pays $6.5 million in taxes and you pay $6,500 in taxes, you paid just as much as him? This must be Common Core math. The Rock has paid enough in taxes to keep the Coast Guard floating in Houston. I bought them a MRE. |

Hey OP, did ya hear?
Trump and FLOTUS went to Texas and didn't fill one sand bag!! Can you believe it? Oh, and those shoes! I mean really, high heels? How can you bitch about the Rock when there is important stuff like this going on? |

In before system message "OP request"
We all know it should actually be "OP is retarded" |

No what you learned is you think just like the left does. He makes more so he should give more. He used his celebrity status and donated 25k dollars, which likely caused other people to donate as well. 25k is a lot of money, I don't care how rich you are, 25k is 25k. View Quote Wow. I can't hardly push through this thread for all the straw men clogging up every post. OP doesn't like someone making a spectacle of their giving. Big deal. I don't either. If you want to disagree with OP because you don't think The Rock was being an attention whore, have at it. But at least hate on him for what he said, not hate on him for what he didn't. |

Never question what another man does with his money or what whiskey he drinks.
These two things are sacred and were grounds for a duel in a better time. |

BTW, when you give and publicly declare it, you're not doing it from the goodness of your heart. Instead you're doing it for public adoration, admiration and gain. No brownie points from Hay-Seuss.
When you give anonymously, that is from the heart. Only you, the Creator and maybe the recipient knows. |

Lol no. I really dont care what you all think of something like this. I own up to my mistakes. Responders are right, I looked at one side and not the other. View Quote ETA you contradicted yourself in that response. Get some sleep and/or sober up |

you talk shit about the man drawing attention to himself(likely to help encourage others to donate)
then you brag about how much more you donated, you clearly earn big $$ as I'm sure your supermodel wife does as well so you should really donate some more. |
|
How very socialist of you op.
Who gives a fuck what he did or didn't donate? He's got no responsibility to give anything. |
|
I think part of his "bragging" is getting more celebrities to match the donation. Kinda like the ice bucket challenge. You do it, then show it and challenge somebody else to do it as well.
|
|
Is this a serious thread?
25K is still a lot of money and I'm sure he donates to other charities. Also he was probably responding to the Kevin Hart challenge for celebs to donate $25k Only thing is I've heard donating to the Red Cross doesn't mean the money you donated actually goes to that disaster but to a general fund or maybe that's the United Way |
|
The fuck is the matter with you, criticizing people's charitable donations? Get over yourself.
|
|
What a dick! That just proves it!
The government should just take more money in taxes this year so they can pay for everything. |
|
|
Op:
He only gave 25k, what a shit bag! What did you donate op? "I changed my Facebook profile picture to show solidarity and support!!" |
|
I bet that son of a bitch is gonna write it off when he does his taxes too. What a dick.

I think it was Kevin Hart a few days back that challenged his Hollywood buddies to donate and I think the initial call was for $25,000.
Good job by them. Chris |

"Yeah, you donated a lot...BUT compared to your GDP, it's less than Lichtenstein!" The problem with this BS is that percentages don't help people...and helping people, not heaping praise upon yourself via some arithmetic, is supposed to be the goal. The Rock's $25,000 will help more than my $2,500. A person that just lost their house/cars/job doesn't give a damn what the % of income/gdp was. Completely irrelevant. I'm guessing God doesn't care either. |

Did we come up with what an acceptable income to donation ratio should be yet?
I need to know so I can belittle people on the internet who did not donate their "fair share" |
