there's a shitload of videos on youtube of dude rebuilding starters, computer boards, crankshafts, engines etc on the floor in the dirt.

I wouldn't bet against them figuring out how to keep them running. Their buddies in Chyna will probably grab a couple and have repro parts up and running in months.

Don't worry, I'm sure some American owned shell company will sign a sweet contract with the Taliban to preform the maintenance

I would bet a paycheck that some of the Afghans that we trained to operate and maintain all the equipment we gave the ANA were taliban.
Or became taliban in the last few weeks.

How many ANA shot our people in the past few years?

Don't worry.  Chy-na will be crating those up and shipping them back to Beijing to help their aviation program jump about a decade overnight.

Now they don't have to buy stuff from P&W Canada under the guise of a civvy heli program.  They have the real deal in working form now.

I guess on the plus side Sikorsky building in 503 hours of maintenance per flight hour will pay off. No parts= ticking time bomb. (Joking about the maintenance hours, I'm not sure the exact number)

Eventually they're all just going to fail spectacularly if iran can't figure out a way to get parts.

Too bad we didn't leave the "stealth" ones that are impossible to fly behind. At least we could have honey potted them.
