My son collects them. The one I am always keeping a eye out for has snuggles the bear hugging an LGM-30 with the caption “you can’t hug with nuclear arms” Missile patch |

This was the most interesting unit I was in ... and it's really not that interesting.
Light "pure" infantry company. 4th Infantry Company (which is why the patch is yellow) in the training battalion. The motto was "Si Dubitas Fode" which means "If in doubt, dig" with two crossed rifles and a field shovel. That company took pride in how much digging the troops did during their 8-month training cycle.

My first patch...
8th Infantry Division (Mechanized), stationed in Germany during the Cold War. The blue was for the ocean you crossed to get there. The eight was for the 8-hour flight from the East Coast to Frankfurt. The arrow was for the shafting you got there. The small circle at the top of the eight was for the size of your asshole upon arrival, while the larger circle on the bottom was the size of your asshole when you left. |
