I've liked the 23rd BS's patch.  Memorializing the time they bombed a volcano.

I helped make tens of thousands of grunt’s lives miserable wearing this patch

Not a patch, but I found it funny wearing Popeye with a hard-on when I was in Germany

Nuke crews have the best ones

My son collects them.

The one I am always keeping a eye out for has snuggles the bear hugging an LGM-30 with the caption “you can’t hug with nuclear arms”

The four-engine fighter. That's a good one for sure.

A SrA who worked for me came up with the new 4th logo. I can't remember his name, and to the best of my knowledge he's never been credited for it. Kind of a shame, because it's everywhere now. I still have stuff with the old logo, the ghost coming over the crescent moon.

Patch doesn't catch enough detail IMO. His right eye is a reticle.

Not my photo...

I find my grandfather's from WWII to be pretty damn badass, as well. Despite its simplicity.

Yeah, the simplicity and design of the WW2 message is awesome IMO.

I collected military patches since 1975 or so.

When I bought the reference manual that contained this patch, I never forgot it.

It projects as the Steve McQueen of military patch statements.

I literally applauded your post.

Fuck this feelings bullshit.

Talk about feelings of our family members on fire in a building.

Talk about feelings of folks jumping hundreds of feet to their death, as a better option than staying in their office.

Talk about feelings of our folks getting blown apart and shot to death while trying to keep that mean evil shit across the ocean

Fuck anyone who reads that patch and is offended by it

Yep.  During the Cold War in the 1970s & 1980s the first nukes dropped on Moscow were going to be dropped by US F-4 Phantoms flying out of Germany, able to reach Moscow but without enough fuel to get anywhere close to returning home.

My first patch...

8th Infantry Division (Mechanized), stationed in Germany during the Cold War.

The blue was for the ocean you crossed to get there. The eight was for the 8-hour flight from the East Coast to Frankfurt. The arrow was for the shafting you got there. The small circle at the top of the eight was for the size of your asshole upon arrival, while the larger circle on the bottom was the size of your asshole when you left.

Felix pre-dates the Tomcats. Heck, even pre-dates WWII.
