Quoted: Will Smith as James West I never even bothered to see the movie because I couldn't imagine anybody in that role other than Robert Conrad. Turned out I was right. When your own Mother disapproves, you know it's hopeless. View Quote Will Smith turned down the role of Neo in the matrix to do wild wild West. |

Did anyone do Eric Stoltz as Marty McFly yet? They filmed half the movie then realized they fucked up so they fired him and got Michael J. Fox and the rest is history.

Joel Grey as Chiun.
No matter how much i like JG as an actor, he was the wrong person to cast. FFS can't we find a Korean actor? Or even an Asian actor, the audience could probably tell you the differences between a Japanese person and a Korean person. The rest of the cast was good, especially Fred Ward. I always wanted a part 2, 3? |

Dylan O'Brian as Mitch Rapp in American Assassin. Plus Keaton as Hurley and Lathan as Kennedy. None of them really fit.
I can't really think of who would play a good young Mitch Rapp. For middle-aged Rapp as we know him from most of the books, I always pictured Ed Quinn playing him. Lisa Edelstein would have made a good Kennedy, with Scott Glenn as Hurley. At this point, they're probably all too old for the roles. |

Jaye Davidson as Ra in the original Stargate. Not scary, not intimidating, no evil vibe to him at all. Total pussy. I skipped the entire franchise because of him.

A few years ago, we took the kids to a live performance of Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”
They cast a black guy as old Ebeneezer Scrooge. That’s fine, and can certainly work. The strange thing, was that some of the actors were using strong cockney accents, and others just sounded like Americans. Scrooge sounded like James Earl Jones. But what was REALLY strange, was how they cast the younger Scrooge characters; the child and the 20-something. They cast white actors for these roles. There WERE young black actors available and on stage in other roles, but apparently they decided to do the casting “color blind.” The problem was that the audience was not “color blind.” A kid sitting in front of us asked his horrified Liberal parents if whether Scrooge becoming more greedy and mean as he got older has also turned his skin black. |

Quoted: he was great in interview with THE vampire. He played it well considering the character in the books. Arrogant, cruel, and vengeful. View Quote Yeah even Anne Rice came out and said he pulled it off and she had been wrong about his casting as she originally had been super critical of his casting. It gets lost in the mix of these types of controversies but Stuart Townsend was a terrible Lestat in a terrible movie. Tohpher Grace as Eddie Brock/Venom. The whole movie ended up being a stinker but they really missed the mark with a guy who was known only for playing a goofy losers well. Jack Black in King Kong. Like Grace only known for a single type of whacky character. Not that they couldnt branch out but neither seemed to have had the requisite practice under their belts to play heavier roles. Jack Black was just flat, no gravitas. Film had other issues be some of it could have been saved with a better cast main character. |

Quoted: Tom Cruise has been miscast in several roles. I’d say he was far worse in both Rock of Ages (a musical of all things) and Interview With a Vampire. Alan Ritchson as Reacher in the TV series was an even worse choice as Jack Reacher. Cruise wasn’t the best choice but at least he gave the character a personality. Ritchson’s version of Reacher comes across as a meat head with no personality. View Quote Reacher has very little personality unless he likes you. In the books he is painfully honest and blunt. I think the series Reacher is a bit overbuilt, but other than that he captures Reacher very, very well. |
