I had a 97 K2500, sold it to my FIL who still uses it on his farm. It's been a great truck.

Back as a kid in the ‘90s, Mom and Dad bought a red ‘92 cab-and-half stepside that had various engine and exhaust upgrades, a body kit, and that had been slightly lowered.

Word was that the previous owner had used it to tow his race car. Whatever, that fuckin’ truck was amazing. My little sister took it to college and through her doctorate.

Best story was back before us kids could drive, we lived in a neighborhood that exited out onto a 4-lane divided highway, straight and smooth for somewhere around a 1/4ish-sort of mile before hitting a T intersection and a light. Dad covered the truck in glory against a variety of contenders, and somehow me and my sister never noticed that Mom was never with us when that happened.

Soooo, me and my sister are riding in the truck with Mom when she pulls out on the four lane some car slides over into the left lane...

“Go Go Go Go Go!!!!” we chanted.

Busted!

After the Toyota 4x4 truck from Back to the Future, my next favorite truck when I was younger was the Chevy extended cab Z71 in black, like the models in OP. Black Z71, off road tires looked sharp back then.

When Toyota came out with the new pickup style 89? Maybe it was 1990? I thought that was awesome at the time for a little truck.

I miss my 60 ElCamino.

59s chevys of all flavors were classy.  I restored a few in my time.

I bought this '97 Z71 new and ran it for 308,000 miles. Was in great condition when I sold it for more than Blue Book to buy a 2015 Silverado.

Are you trying to be ironic? You have an old truck as your avatar...

Ford did it better in that era.

Bullnose, Dentside and Task Force are certainly right up there!

If you were a guy in the mid 90s and didn't have a hard on for an extended cab Z71 with a 5.7 V8 something was wrong with you.

Had to do a double take...
My first vehicle was a '78 F150 4x4 with the Ranger trim pack.  Exactly that color, Candy Apple Red...  When we repainted it, the over spray turned everything in the body shop that color red!
LOVED that truck, but IL road salt took it from me.

*not my pic, but think what I'm going for when I drag my j10 out of the weeds to finish fixing up... I took a break working on it one day, about 12 years ago

My Z-71 was pretty cool. That 4WD would get out of damned  near anything.

It ate brakes like nobody’s business, though.

First pickup was a 1972 C10. 3-speed, no power anything. Sold it for a ‘78 that at least had power brakes and steering.

Mine was tan with bigger tires.

I have that exact color green one (but it's a 3/4 ton 4WD) behind the house right now.  Keep thinking about putting a gas engine in it one of these days when my current Silverado finishes rusting out.
