I need a new toaster for my various bread products (mostly sourdough). Is this Wolf Toaster God Tier Toast Maker the best out there? Are there other recommendations?
Thanks for looking |

I use one of those Ninja 10-in-1 ovens. Convection, air fry, toast, dehydrate, you name it. It's not a "toaster" per se, but it works well. And it'll fit a standard pizza as well.

But wouldn't all my giant slabs of butter run down into the toaster?

We have a Wolf toaster we got for "free" with points from buying their stove, fridge and range hood. My wife likes it because it matches everything else. I don't really use it, but everyone else does.

Is there a toaster that will actually turn the toast dark brown not that pale ass warmed bread crap

View Quote What a piece of junk. You can't even turn it up to 11. |

Dualit four slice. They are still hand assembled in the UK and toast very evenly. They are all manual control as well.

We use a cast flat iron over flame for toasting 95% of things. Great for heating up tortillas, which don't fit in one of those fancy springy counter space grabbers. It is also hard to fit a grilled ham and cheese sangwich in one of those.
I would consider a panini style press toaster, but I ran out of counterspace. |

Seems like most hotels have one of those toasters on their breakfast line. I turn the speed down, so it will actually brown the toast. |

Quoted: Wife got a Breville and she likes it. View Quote Don't do it! GF got one after reading the reviews and ATK ratings. Didn't toast worth a damm, uneven etc. The elements on one side stopped working than the other. Breville CS was "oh well" ?? She was so pissed thar she threw it in the trash. We are using a basic toaster for now until she cools off. |

I'd go for the big Breville toaster-over air fryer. That thing is freaking awesome. Costs almost as much as a regular full size oven though. Tier one to the max.

I appreciate the little racks for making small pieces within the larger heating area. That one is on the list. |

I have never owned a toaster. If I had a big fancy kitchen, I'd buy that.

I haven’t found one that puts out enough heat. Most of them end up baking it and drying it out. Best solution I’ve seen is a brief toast then hit with a torch. Faster and better.

In this thread I have learned that there are really expensive and really fancy toasters

The butter incorporates into the bread and gives you crunchy toast instead of sad soggy toast. We were given a Emeril Lagasse air fryer oven (~$150) that makes great toast especially if it's buttered before it goes in, and it does it in under 5 minutes It also works well as a convection oven, toaster oven, and broiler plus it has a rotisserie attachment. Having all those features in one box avoids having multiple gizmos scattered throughout the kitchen, and food cooks 20% quicker than in a conventional oven. They make a larger double door model also. I've got this one, from Breville - works very well:

This.. everything else is just a toaster. |

I got a 4 slice Dualit when I got tired of replacing Chinese toasters every two years.
The thing is rock solid and repairable. It's the Speed Queen of toasters. |
|
For something like this I would suggest the kitchen aid/ toaster/air fryer. You get a multi tasker and free up counter space. My mother has one but she gifted me one each of the others, and they haven't broke yet so I have too many gadgets now. And no counter space.

The Antique Toaster that's Better than Yours Sunbeam T-35 Automatic. Full auto toaster, just put the bread in and it does everything else autmatically. |

I swear some of you guys find the most obscure expensive shit to post to make me feel like a poors.
I had a 4 slice long slot toaster that worked great till my 5 year old decided to pour chocolate syrup and marshmallows in it. $30 bucks down the drain. But for those 2 weeks it good enough. I can't imagine if he did it to a $300 toaster much less a $500 one. The little ones make me hesitant to buy really nice shit. |

I am a little concerned about the electronics that are part of the toasting function. Maybe a smart toaster is worth the risk. |

View Quote Ah, nice to see a review of this one. I was looking over these earlier. I have to admit this portion of the write-up has me interested: "50s retro-look appliances designed in collaboration with some of the world's top architects. The SMEG toaster combines iconic midcentury style with advanced performance, so you can count on perfect toast or bagels every time." This unit seems to have some style. Function and form would make it a contender. |

I think I paid $8 for mine at Dollar General about 4 years ago. It does one job and does it well.
I mean, it's fucking toast. |
