I know, I know. My coworkers looked at me like I was nuts, but they realize I dance to the beat of a different drummer.
Honestly though, Vegas has some of the nicest pools in the world, and flights and rooms are cheap. |

The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has notified the UFC of a second failed drug test submitted by former heavyweight champion and WWE star Brock Lesnar. UFC officials were informed Tuesday that Lesnar, 39, failed a fight night drug test at UFC 200 on July 9 in Las Vegas. Results showed the presence of the same unidentified banned substance Lesnar tested positive for on June 28. The substance that Lesnar tested positive for hasn't been officially identified, but a source told ESPN that the flagged substance is clomiphene, the same anti-estrogen blocker that Jon Jones tested positive for. |

I heard Jones is trying to blame the failed test on some gas station dick pills.
I wonder if him and Brock were at the same gang bang. |

For those hardcore fans like me, here's one to watch tonight.
Darrion Caldwell fights tonight on Spike at 6pm Est/9pm Pst. Very promising prospect at 135. He dismantled Joe Warren who is a very decorated wrestler himself. I hope it's wrong but I read that he signed an 8 fight deal with Bellator. I'd much rather see him only fight 1-2 more times then sign with the UFC. |

Doubt he'll make that mistake again. |

The one time I'm actually able to watch some fights live, and they are "meh" so far. Just my luck.

UFC 201: Lawler v. Woodley Saturday, July 30 Prelims on FS2 @ 5pm/8pm Pst/Est Main on PPV @ 7pm/10pm Pst/Est ** I mean no disrespect to the fighters on this card, but this is a pretty shitty PPV. This should have been a free fight on FS1 or FS2. Now that the Scoggins/McCall fight feel out, it's even worse. http://i.imgur.com/5aQ4qYj.png View Quote Agree. As far as water cooler talk is concerned.
Jones is gone for two years, even though I think Brock was 'one and done' he's gone for two years, it seems Rhonda is content making movies. If Nate kicks Conor's ass again the UFC is going to be in one hell of a drought for a while money wise. The talent is there so guys like you will still watch but not the rest of the current fan base. |

View Quote Bisping v. Hendo will do good numbers. UFC hasn't done many superfights or freakshow fights in the past, but I can see it being their key to success if there are questions about Ronda or Conor. Chaal v. Silva? People would buy that. GSP v. Anybody? People would buy that. As far as the current stable, they have a lot of stars or up and comers that do good traffic, but aren't PPV stars yet. I know that historically 170-265 has been where most of the buys come from and I don't see that changing. For now at least, Conor is an anomaly. Nobody gave a shit about Aldo or Mendes or Cub or Frankie when Conor wasn't around. We need to see a male fighter other than Conor, who weights less than 155 pull big PPV numbers to see if anybody is really capable of being a PPV draw at that size. |

If he's concerned about brain health - Agree If he's chasing the title defense record - Agree If he's looking to make the most money during his very short window of opportunity - Disagree People fight for all sorts of reasons but if you're in the biggest MMA promotion in the world, you can't say that money and long term success after your fighting career doesn't at least play a part in your decision making. He claims his goal now it to chase the title defense record. The only time he's ever talked about superfights in fighting Cruz for 2 million. He doesn't talk business a whole lot and it's hard to bitch about the hand that feeds you, but he seems content to just keep doing his thing at 125. My advice would be to ask the UFC to book him against big names. Cruz doesn't have KO power but a superfight would at least draw more viewers than DJ's current title fights. A fight against somebody like Faber would draw more view. I would also BEG to be put as the co-main of some very big shows so my PPV points actually meant something. We don't know the threshold, but it seems like if a PPV doesn't hit a certain number of buys, the PPV points don't kick in. I don't think DJ's ever been in more than one PPV card that did over 400-500k buys. That's a very big disparity compared to Conor or Ronda card that are doing close to or over 1 million buys. Assume he's negotiated for $2/ppv buy. Being on a big card could mean an extra $1,000,000 in pay. That's a lot of money left on the table. If i'm going to make a living getting punched in the god damn face, you better be paying me. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Yes... but no. Mighty Mouse is just that, a mouse. He's undefeated - and dominant - at 125, but at 135 he was mortal. It might be different if Cruz wasn't at 135 again. But right now... we've seen that show. There are guys who can fight up. There aren't many, but there are guys. Most guys, though... they just can't be as strong as the bigger man. Because he's bigger. And that's especially true at the lighter weight classes. At least at the heavier classes people have 1-punch knockout power. Nobody has that at the lighter classes; they just aren't strong enough. They can't be... not enough room for muscle. Knockouts become a culmination of punches, not one. As fast as Mighty Mouse is... he's mortal at 135; he's damn-near invincible at 125. I'd advise him against a return to 135 unless either he can't make weight (unlikely) or he starts to slow down and becomes mortal anyway (a ways off). If i'm going to make a living getting punched in the god damn face, you better be paying me. Way later- I guess I get that, but the superfight money has to be enough that it makes it. It can't be 2x, because if he loses, he won't even make what he's making now, because he will once again be mortal. But I guess non-title... or at least not for his title... I could get behind it. |

What a shit show. This first PPV fight was on the Fight Pass Prelims and then got bumped when Scoggins v. McCall was scrapped.
Serrano is just doing bizarre stuff. He split his head open on a slam. He's rolling into takedowns pulling guard. Benoit tried to hit him after the Round 1 bell. Just weird. This is NOT PPV level fighting but it's "grab your popcorn" kinda fun. Even Rogan is amused/perplexed at the ass-hattery. |

This is a super weak card. This the reason I didn't buy it this time.
I also thought UFC 200 was shit. I wasted my money. |

Lots of stalking. Woodley throws a few big rights. Now in the clinch. Back to the center.
