I doubt that high but here's what it all comes down to: lifestyle choices.

They did the math wrong (I did that in a thread recently). $9,740...I'd buy. $9,740 when they're making x < $40k.

Average rent around here is 900-1300 according to the renters I work with.
That’s $10-15.5k. Those “millenials” must be renting some sweet cribs. |

$8k a month in rent. That's an accurate article... What a bunch of retardation.
Stop eating fucking tidepods, stop spending six hours a day on your phone, and actually do some work and you will have no issue getting a decent place to stay. Keep working, keep building your resume, and you will find yourself living in a nice place before you know it. Be willing to commute a half hour to work. |
|
That is $1014 a month.
I am a millennial and my mortgage payment is double that. And I am not living paycheck to paycheck. |

Bullshit I have lived in a 3000sq ft house with a heated salt water pool in FL for $1200 a month That is the most I have ever paid. my House is over 3k square ft(1200 upstairs 30% finished) and my mortgage and T/I is only $1050. Quit trying to live beyond your means kiddos View Quote My mortgage is $1050 in a two story house with 2 sides property on the lake. |

Single women................can't budget or manage money, complains about some stupidly high Trump Tower apartment rent figure.
Did they include their Starbucks and shoe budget in with their rent? |

That's real good. Out here rental homes start at $2600/mo if you can find one. In nicer neighborhoods homes usually rent for $3500+ and up. If you look on Craigslist they are people pleading to be find a room to rent in a house and are willing to pay up $1200/mo for a room. Housing/rental prices are crazy and its getting worse. My mortgage is $390/mo. I pay $150 or less (usually way less) a month for electric and gas. I pay $100/quarter for water.
That averages to like $575/mo, and someday I'll OWN THIS PROPERTY and I'll STOP PAYING FOR IT. Is there a reason murals want to be seen as retards? |
|
Am I supposed to feel sorry for them for living beyond their means? Not feeling it.

I could see 15k in parts of Dallas. But 97k is living in deep cotton.

I know dumb mellinials paying 3500 a month for a 1bed/1bath in rent(west hollywood)

With math skills like that, it's no wonder they're in a hopeless financial situation.

Total bullshit. If you can afford that, you can afford a nice house in most areas

DC area apartments go for around 2-3 K and they are not that big of apartments. The closer to DC you get the higher the cost. Some people do it so they live a sose to work as possible.
Here are prices in Arlington, VA for townhouse and condo's. https://www.realestate.com/arlington-va--condos-townhomes |

I don’t know ANYONE who pays over 1k a month. And they’re laiming HALF of Millennials pay over 8k? View Quote $8k/month sounds like someone living downtown or by the beach. Rents can legitimately get into those figures for a relatively crappy apartment in those areas from what I've heard. But my State also has a very expensive housing market, for rent or sale. |

What the shit? I pay $5400 for a reasomably nice one-bedroom in a duplex-ish place in a college town. Anyone paying $97,400 annually in rent (without extremely high income, not an issue if you're making half a million) has their priorities skewed.

That’s over eight grand a month. Get the fuck out of here with that shit lol. The problem all of these poster child millennials have is that they insist on trying to live in Manhattan, DC or Silicon Valley instead of, ya know, Indiana or something.

My son paid $2,000 a month in Alexandria VA for a three bedroom townhouse, before they bought a house. My nephew just bought a $600,000 house in Seattle, one of the worst markets there is. Where in the world would you have to pay $8,000 a month? View Quote |

Lol, Get the absolute fuck out of here. This report, just like USA Today and the leftist cunts that work for it is fake news. Some feminism studies major misplaced a decimal and everyone else in the newsroom was too stupid to catch it. Do you really expect me to believe the MEDIAN millennial rent is $100K a year???
GTFO. |

I sort of believe that. For the most part; They want a fully furnished house comparable to what their parents had when they were living there. They do not want "starter" homes or apartments that are less than what they had when they were living with the parents or what their parents were paying for them to live in when they were getting their college educations.
They want the Better Homes and Gardens kitchens, bathrooms, decks and patios with matching appliances, filtered water, within walking distance to public transportation or less than 15 minutes driving time to work. Their job starts when they get there and ends when they're finished for the day and ready to go home. They want the highest hourly rate possible for their position or the highest salary in the department irregardless of their experience level or training qualifications. They want it all, they want it now. They want it on their terms. They are very demanding of others and unwilling to give of themselves unless they perceive it to serve a purpose they choose. They are a very intelligent generation and capable of doing great work and achieving at high levels ...but they are a royal pain in the arse to work with and around. |
