If you want to troll this thread, or insult/mock Virginians, please stop. Do you understand that this thread is SPECIFICALLY about very aggressive gun laws that Democrats in Richmond are trying to pass within the next days or weeks, that not only could fuck over all gunowners in VA, but could be the beginning of Bloomberg's attempts to spread gun control to previous "safe" states. This isn't a "Hey, I love Virginia. Isn't Virginia swell?" thread. It's not about California or whatever state you live in. |

No state is safe and I hope it starts to change some attitudes in here. |

I think they have to vote on it today. Per VA Gen Assembly, House reconvenes at 1100.
|
|
Believe it will be at 1100 meeting. I plan to try and at least listen and click to video when i hear 961.
Remember - this is still only a step and we still have a strong chance to stop in the Senate. Our efforts so far have resulted in many changes to this bill. As vcdl says it still needs to hit the trash can but we are making progress. One year of prison per magazine will still be a “death penalty” for many. |

To view the video when the meeting starts
Go to this link https://virginiageneralassembly.gov/house/chamber/chamberstream.php Click the 3 lines “menu graphic” button in the upper left of the screen. Click “Now Playing”. It actually says the stream starts at 10:00! I will update if I can, or someone else please do, if they notice the meeting actually starting and copy paste these directions into the thread when referring to that start time please. |

This is the house vote, correct?
Pretty certain it will pass there. I'm holding out hope for the senate. |

Whatever y'all do in Virginia do not take the advice of the California we're playing chess not checkers gun lobby.
Clearly the state govt has signaled they're intent, I reckon they will do what they have done other places and ratchet things down further in a year or two till its like New York or California. |

Meeting starts 11 per the video screen that is now up and running

MD is trying to piggyback on VA’s “success”. Looks like they’re “learning” and incentivizing early registration, with the hope that those don’t register early will see $1000/firearm as too expensive and sell them out of state. It also aims to reduce the number of firearms people own in MD. The guy with 3 AR’s might only register one and sell the others. Those with a dozen or more will simply move out of state. Hogan the RINO will sign it too.
